통영시의 섬.
인구가 적은 탓에 마을버스가 없다 당연히 섬 내이기도 하고 섬 크기도 작고 지리상으로는 철도도 없다. 현재 유일한 교통수단으로는 선박 밖에 없다.
만지도와 연결되는 출렁다리가 있다. 그리고 연대도에 통영 연대도 패총이라는 사적이 있다. 둘레길도 있다.
