벌등도(筏登島)는 북한 압록강에 있는 섬이다. 이름의 유래는 압록강에서 뗏목을 타고 가던 벌목꾼들이 올라가 쉬어 갔다는 대에서 유래된 이름이다. 벌등도는 중국 집안(集安)과 북한 자강도 만포(滿浦) 사이의 압록강 중류에 있고, 면적은 약 25㏊다. 집안시는 지역차원에서 북한의 벌등도를 개발하려고 변민호시무역구를 지으려고 한 적이 있다.
이 섬에 북한 관련 음식점과 공연단을 만들고, 중국과 유람선을 함께 관광하자는 개발 계획이 있었다. 공동 개발을 하려는 김정은의 시도가 있지만, 지금 자금난에 허덕이고 있는 북한의 상황과 북중관계를 보면 당분간은 안될 것이다.
