1. 개요

그림 속 인물은 WHO 총장 테워드로스 아드하놈 거브러여수스. 이 사람은 탄더싸이(谭德塞)[1]라는 중국어 이름도 공식적으로 가지고 있다.

중국에 뽕을 맞았다는 뜻.

중국을 좋아하는 것을 넘어서 중국을 과도하게 찬양하거나 숭배하는 것을 말한다.

영어로는 시노필리아(親華派 Sinophilia)라고 지칭되기도 하는데,[2] 이는 모화사상 같은 문화적인 동경을 의미하는 것으로 오늘날 중화인민공화국 정부를 맹목적으로 옹호하는 중뽕이라는 단어의 의미와 일치하지는 않는다.

대만을 숭배하는 사람을 중빠라고 하는 경우도 있지만[3] 이 문서에서는 현재 중국공산당이 집권하고 있는 중화인민공화국만을 숭배하는 경우를 주로 서술한다.

중뽕들을 지칭하는 별칭으로 대안제국주의자(Alt-Imperialist)가 있다. 중국 제국주의도 진영 논리로 옹호하는 행태를 비판하는 신조어

중국은 21세기 들어 여러 분야에서 급격한 성장을 이루었고 강대국 중 하나로 다시 올라서게 되었다. 그러나 이러한 성장과는 대조적으로 중국의 문화 산업은 그 규모의 경제에 비해 매우 빈약한 수준으로 과거 버블경제 시절 일본이나 2차대전 직후 소련만큼 문화적 위상이 높지는 않다. 이렇게 문화적 기반이 빈약한 상황에서 타국에 대한 가짜뉴스 및 코로나 19 관련 해외에 무책임한 태도 등으로 인해 해외에서 중국의 이미지가 마냥 긍정적이라고 보기는 어렵다. 이러한 상황 속에서 전세계적으로 신냉전이 격화되는 와중에 친중 세력과 민주주의와 인권을 옹호하는 반중 세력[4] 사이의 대립이 심해지고 있다.

이들은 주로 "한국은 자주성 없이 미국과 서방세력에 빌붙기만 한다" 등의 주장을 하기도 한다. 중국인이나 중뽕들이 한국이 자주성 강한 국가가 되는 것을 원해서 이런 말을 하는지 아니면 민 아웅 흘라잉의 미얀마 군사독재정권처럼 중국의 위성국가가 되기를 원해서 이런 말을 하는지 판단은 독자의 몫에 맡긴다.

고정관념과 다르게 친중/중뽕이라고 무조건 반일/혐일로 일반화하기는 어렵다. 청주 중학생 모친 살인사건, 서현역 칼부림 사건 등으로 대중의 여론이 혐한 일뽕들에게 향하면서 이른바 원종단이라는 멸칭으로도 불리는 제국주의와 식민주의 마이너 갤러리 같은 혐한 커뮤니티들이 파헤쳐진 결과 해당 커뮤니티 멤버들은 혐한/친중/친일 세 가지 공통적인 성향을 보이는 것이 확인되기 때문이다.

중뽕들의 혐한친일 성향은 한복공정 관련하여 시나 웨이보에서 유포된 혐한 만화에서도 확인할 수 있다. 한중일 국가 의인화 여자 캐릭터가 나오는데, 한국이 다 늘어난 소복을 입고 가슴을 완전히 드러내고 침을 흘리며 중국에 '옷 예쁘다, 내 옷 훔쳤냐'고 하자 중국이 황당해하고, 일본이 한국에 '네 옷이나 제대로 입어라'고 하는 내용이다. 물론 한국을 변태, 바보로 비하한지라 한국 네티즌을 격분하게 했다. 해당 만화는 동일하게 한국을 변태, 바보로 비하한 일본 만화 헤타리아를 연상시키며 노골적인 친일 혐한 성향[5]도 보인다.# 관련 기사

애초에 특정 국가에 대한 과도한 혐오감을 드러내는 경우는 사회적 열등감의 표출이나 기회주의적으로 인기를 얻기 위한 목적[6]에서 이루어지는 경우가 많다. 같은 맥락에서 제국주의에 노골적으로 아첨하는 경우는 과거 구한말이나 일제강점기 당시 친일파들처럼 개인의 영달을 위한 목적이 있다고 볼 수 있다. 반면 국제 관계에서 특정 국가를 견제하기 위해서 다른 국가와 친분 관계를 다지는 자체는 원교근공 이이제이가 중시되는 외교계에서 일상적으로 일어나는 경우로 이를 뽕/빠 같은 비하적인 용어만으로 설명할 수는 없다. 특정 정치인이나 정당 등에서 친중/반일 성향을 드러내거나 친일/반중 성향을 드러냈다고 해서 과연 해당 정당이나 개개인이 도덕성까지 비판받아야 하는지는 논란이 있다.

2.1.3. 혐러

신냉전 상황에서 중러관계가 밀착되는 오늘날 상황에서 간과되기 쉽지만, 중뽕 성향 인물들의 혐러 감정 역시 상당한 수준이다. 애초에 동북공정의 기원부터가 1960년대 중소국경분쟁 당시 중국의 반소 프로파간다가 중소관계 해빙 및 소련 해체 이후 타깃이 소련에서 대한민국으로 옮겨간 것에 가깝다.

확실히 1960년대 중국과 소비에트 연방이 갈라선 것은 청나라의 역사에 대한 상반되는 평가에 영향을 주었지만, 그 차이들은 훨씬 심각해졌다. 심지어 1980년대 중소결렬이 완화되고 개혁이 시작되고 이데올로기적 통제가 완화되었을 때도 역사가들은 같은 주제들을 반복했다. 역사적인 변화에 대한 양측 모두의 주요 가정은 마르크스-레닌주의자들이라고 알려진 이들에게 걸맞지 않게 너무나 비유물론적이었다. 그들은 기본적인 물질적 요인들을 면밀히 조사하기보다 폴키시(Volkisch) 즉 '민족정신'에 대해 더 많이 연구 했다. 비록 중국과 소련, 몽골 모두가 계급투쟁에 호소하고 민족주의적 '대중'과 타락한 '엘리트'들을 구분해야 한다고 주장하지만, 그들은 생산양식의 변동에 기초해 계급의식이 실제로 진화했다는 증거는 거의 내놓지 않는다. 이 주제에 관한 역사 서술에서는 발전 단계들을 구분하려는 노력보다 외국의 침략에 대항한 민족들의 단결을 옹호하는 것이 훨씬 두드러진다. 국경을 맞댄 이 세 공산주의 국가는 1980년대까지 이 지역에 역사 기술 대부분을 상대방에 대하여 자국 영토를 확정하는데 집중했다. 국경 유지가 프롤레타리아트의 단결을 이겼던 것이다.

중국의 서진 / 피터 C. 퍼듀

중국 국민이나 중뽕 네티즌들의 러시아 관련 감정은 사상적으로는 친러이겠지만, 한족 쇼비니즘 관점에서는 혐러를 오가는 이중적이고 복잡미묘한 관계인데 이는 청말 아이훈 조약과 베이징 조약에서 러시아 제국이 연해주 영토를 강탈한 사건 등에서 기인하는 바다. 오늘날 중국의 대중 역사서에서도 아이훈 조약과 베이징 조약, 상트페테르부르크 조약이 부당한 조약이라는 주장이 거의 필수적으로 명시되어 있다는 점 역시 간과할 수 없다.

러우전쟁 이전에는 종북주의자들 입장에서는 러시아가 명목상이나마 민주주의 국가가 된 점이나 불곰사업 이후 북한에 무기 수출 및 지원을 중단한 점.[7] 자유시장경제를 도입한 점이 배신으로 받아들여져 무척 못마땅하게 여기기도 했다.

2.1.4. 반대만

국공내전이나 중일전쟁 관련한 관점이나 국민당보다 중국 공산당에 좀 더 우호적이라는 이유만으로 중뽕이라고 볼 수는 없다. 문제는 중국 측의 대만, 중화민국 관련한 견해를 일방적으로 믿고 지지하는 경우를 너머 대만이나 중화민국 관련하여 매우 신경질적인 입장을 고수하는 사람들이 많다는 점이다. 이는 대만은 UN의 미승인국이지만 동시에 한 편으로는 1912년 신해혁명 이래 이어져온 정권으로 중화인민공화국보다 정통성 측면에서 우월하다 평가받기 때문이다.

중국 관제 차원에서 벌이는 혐한 여론을 그대로 믿고 따르는 부류이다. 중국 공산당(CCP)의 엄격한 통제를 받는 중국 국영 언론과 한족 쇼비니즘 성향의 분청들은 조직적인 여론 조작, 역사 왜곡, 문화 예속화 시도를 통해 해외에 혐한 정보를 살포하고 있으며,#1 # 이를 수용하게 되는 외국인들도 없지 않을 것으로 보인다. 이러한 행위는 한국과 서방 국가들 사이의 신뢰나 동맹 관계를 약화시키며, 중국의 지역적 패권을 강화하기 위한 것이다.#[8]

똑똑한 자신들 이외에 대부분의 한국인들이 우매해서 "공자 한국인설"을 믿고 있다고 생각하는 경우도 있다.[9]

이 외에도 천안문 6.4 항쟁 이야기가 나올 때 중뽕들이나 일부 중국인들은 반박하겠답시고 광주 민주화 운동 이야기를 꺼내기도 하는데, 비교 자체가 되지 않는다. 한국 정부는 5.18에 대해 진상조사를 하고 유공자들에게 피해보상을 하며 역사교과서에도 민주화의 일환이라고 등재했지만 중국 정부는 6.4 항쟁에 대해 기록말살에 준할 정도로 철저히 숨기고 있고 조금이라도 이를 지지하는 즉시 반정부 분자로 찍혀 실종된다. 오히려 중국 정부에서 굉장히 혐오하는 민주화 운동 이야기를 스스로 꺼낸 거 자체가 자폭행위이다. 오죽 켕겼으면 중국은 택시운전사라는 영화를 자국 내에서 상영금지 때렸을 정도.

2.1.6. 혐인도

한국 웹 커뮤니티에서 중국을 욕하면 괜히 인도를 언급하며 물타기를 시도하는 경우도 드물지 않다. 괜히 뜬금없이 인도, 방글라데시가 미개한 강간범의 나라라는 식으로 사람들의 관심을 돌리려는 것으로 보이는데, UN에서 낸 통계에 따르면 중국과 남아시아의 성범죄율은 그렇게 차이가 없다. #

2.1.7. 중국 인구를 기반으로 한 근거없는 우월감

2002년 한일 월드컵 당시 중국 언론사들의 노골적인 혐한 보도로 국내에 반중 감정이 폭발하던 가운데, 일부 중뽕 성향 유저들이 다음의 안티 중국 카페 등에서 쳐들어와 "유치하군 진짜. 겨우 5천만명밖에 안되는 한국인들이 14억 중국인들을 뭘 안다고"라는 글을 달았다가 비웃음을 당하기도 했다.

2017년에는 이에 대한 통계학적 지적도 있는데, 중국 인구가 과대집계 되었다는 내용이라 중국 인구 과소평가설 같은 주장을 반박하는 쪽이다.

한 편 인도의 인구가 중국을 추월하자 갑자기 중국 관제 언론에서는 앞으로는 양보다 질이 우선이다 라는 식으로 논점을 바꾸고는 있다.

상술한 중국 및 중뽕의 혐인도 감정 역시 중국의 오랜 자랑 아닌 자랑이었던 최대 인구 타이틀을 뺐었다는 데 있다고도 볼 수 있겠다.

2.1.8. 북한 관련 문제에서의 이중잣대

진영 논리에 따라서 중국 공산당을 옹호하는 사람들이 북한을 옹호하는 경우도 있다. 아이러니하게도 국제사회의 남북통일에 가장 심하게 반대하는 나라가 바로 중국이며, 북한의 한국사 해석과 가장 상반된 대척점에 있는 나라도 바로 중국이다.

2.1.9. 중국 정치인 관련

2.1.9.1. 저우언라이 관련

일각에서는 마오쩌둥 대신 저우언라이가 집권했더라면 지금의 중국이 미국 따위 순삭했을 것이라 주장하는 경우도 있다. 특정 국가에 대한 라이벌 의식에 가상의 과거사를 대입하는 것은 자신감이 부족하다는 것으로 해석될 수 있다.[10]

2.1.9.2. 시진핑 찬양

중국 관제 언론의 시진핑 찬양을 그대로 믿거나 혹은 금전적인 이유 등으로 복붙하는 케이스이다. 러우전쟁 이후로도 나름 팬이 적지 않은 블라디미르 푸틴과 다르게 시진핑은 개인적인 카리스마가 부족하기 때문에 금전적인 이유가 얽혀있는 게 아닌 이상 중국인 아닌 외국인이 시진핑을 찬양하는 경우는 생각보다는 흔하지 않다.

2.1.10. 중국 인프라 찬양

유독 중국 공산당의 협찬을 받아 중국의 인프라를 찬양하는 유튜브 동영상들이 많은 것과 대조적으로, 세계 10대 공항 순위에는 중국의 공항들이 잘 올라오지 않고 있다.

3. 중국/역사, 문화빠

근세 조선 왕조와 베트남에서는 이런 경향이 매우 강했는데, 이는 당시 중국 문화가 한문과 유교경전에 대한 지식이 '중국 문화를 모르는 평민과 한문을 읽고 쓸 줄 아는 기득권층을 구분짓는 척도'로 해석되어 일종의 스노비즘의 형태로 소비되었기 때문이다.

특히 성리학을 맹목적으로 추종하는 경우 성리학의 화이관까지 그대로 비판없이 받아들이며 친중을 넘어 중화 그 자체로 편입되기를 원하는 경우가 많았다. 이는 명나라가 망하고 청나라가 중국을 지배한 이후에는 청나라는 진정한 중화가 아니며 자국이 진정한 중화문화의 중심이라는 소중화사상으로까지 이어졌다. 쉽게 말하자면 조선 초 세종대왕은 당시 기준으로 "친중"이라면, 세종의 훈민정음 창제를 방해했던 정창손이나 혹은 조선 인조 같은 경우는 즉 스노비즘 차원에서 중국 문화만을 우월하게 여기거나 혹은 실리를 버리면서까지 중국을 추종하는 전형적인 "중뽕"이라고 할 수 있다.

현대에도 세계 4대 문명 등등 중화민국 시절의 중화주의적 역사 이론이 무비판적으로 일본과 한국 교과서에 실리면서 중국 역사에 대한 지나친 환상을 가진 사람들이 적지 않은 것이 현실이다. 하지만 중국이 근대로 넘어오면서 이러한 위상이 조금씩 깎이게 되는데 20세기 중반에 중국공산당이 집권을 하면서 제사해 운동, 문화대혁명, 천안문 사태 같은 대규모 흑역사를 연달아 일으켰고, 결국 중국의 위상은 완전히 무너져 내렸기 때문이다. 특히 죽의 장막과 마오쩌둥의 문화대혁명 때문에 기존의 많은 문화유산이 파괴되고 공산권의 폐쇄적인 분위기 때문에 대중문화가 크게 알려지지도 못했고, 당시의 대중문화들도 대부분 공산당, 마오쩌둥 찬양이었기에 흥미를 가지는 사람들도 적었다. 오히려 대만이나 홍콩 쪽 중화권 영화나 드라마가 잘 알려져 인기를 끌었다. 중국의 개방 이후 방대한 자본과 거대한 내수시장을 기반으로 하는 문화 시장을 가지고 있지만, 오늘날 중국의 문화 산업은 그 거대한 규모의 경제에 비해 아웃풋이 형편없는 수준이라는 문제가 있다.#

3.1. 행태

동북공정 옹호 및 한국사 부정 및 폄하
앞서 얘기한 반한형과 함께 맥락을 같이 하는 유형으로서 동북공정은 중국의 역사중 하나이고 한국의 역사는 단지 중국의 제후국 수준이라 주장하며, 중국의 의해 좌지우지 되는 꼭두각시 정권이라고 주장하는 유형.
이들의 대표적인 특징으로 다음 예가 있다.

역사적으로 동아시아 지역에서만 세력을 미쳤을 뿐, 세계 정세를 주도한 바 없는 과거의 중국을 원래부터 세계 초강대국이었다고 우긴다.

위의 경우 원래 초강대국이었던 중국에게 한국은 원래대로 중국의 똘마니가 되어야 한다고 주장한다.

개중에는 단군조선을 부정하고 기자조선이 정사라는 입장을 취하는 부류도 있다.
박계옥의 조선구마사처럼 고증을 중국에 유리하게 왜곡하고 한국을 최대한 폄하한다. 여기에 대해 비판을 하면 "너희들은 박계옥 작가에게 관심법을 쓰냐?"라는 식으로 논점을 흐린다.

타 문명권에 대한 왜곡과 폄하
메소포타미아 문명권과 고대 로마 같은 경우는 세계 최선진 문명이었던 기간이 중국보다 더 길고 역사 자체도 더 오래됐으며[11] 무엇보다 오늘날의 현대 문명을 일궈낸 이들이다.[12][13] 그럼에도 불구하고 근대 이전까지 군사력이든 문화든 경제든 뭐든 늘 중국이 세계 최고였다는 왜곡된 인식을 가지고 있다. 유럽 본토의 경우에는 친중/반중을 떠나서 산업혁명 이전까지 미개하게 살다가 산업혁명 이후 잘나가게 됐다는 어이없는 인식이 한국 인터넷에 많이 퍼져 있는 편이다.
BBC에서 중국 유저들에 의해 영어 위키백과의 대만 항목이 중국의 영유권 주장을 정당화하는 서술들로 왜곡되어 가고 있다고 보도하였을 만큼 현재 대량의 중국 유저들이 영어 위키백과에서 끈질기게 수정 전쟁을 벌이며 많은 아시아 관련 항목들을 친중이나 만물 중국 기원설 성향의 왜곡이나 과정적인 내용이 담긴 서술들로 바꿔나가고 있다. 특히 아시아 역사 및 문화 관련 지식이 전무한 일부 해외 네티즌들은 이렇게 왜곡된 영어 위키백과의 문서들을 읽고 중국의 영토권 주장이나 동북공정을 옳다고 오해하며 옹호하는 중뽕이 되는 사례도 적지 않다. 심하면 아무리 말이 안 되는 주장이라 할지라도 영어 위키백과 곳곳에 아직도 심심찮게 서술되어 있는 만물 중국 기원설 성향의 서술들을 읽고 진지하게 받아들기도 한다.불행히도 타깃은 위키디피아 영어판의 한복공정에서 보듯 대만 하나가 아니다.
티베트나 위구르 문제 관련해서 바이두 백과에서도 차마 하기 힘든 수준의 과장된 발언으로 중국 공산당의 식민지배를 노골적으로 옹호하는 행태(티베트가 중화민국 시절에도 중국의 일부였다 위구르는 기원전 내내 중국 역사의 일부였다 등등)를 보여준다. 따지고 보면 일제시대 때도 친일파들이 창씨개명 할 때 일부러 과잉 충성으로 후지 같은 성씨로 개명했던 적도 있었으니 특이한 일은 아니다만...

3.2. 개인적인 기호형

경제 개방 이후 고속 성장하는 중국 문화 콘텐츠 중에 이전의 표절작을 넘어 평작이나 명작도 종종 볼 수 있는데, 순수하게 이런 작품성에 이끌리는 경우도 있다.

중국 미인을 보고 중국에 호감을 가지는 경우도 있다. 장모님의 나라 같은 편견이 있는 러시아까지는 아니지만 실제로 중국은 인구가 많은 만큼 예쁘고 멋진 사람도 적지 않게 찾아볼 수 있다. 특히 판빙빙, 유역비, 루한, 우기, 닝닝 등의 중국 출신 스타들이 대거 등장하고, 이들의 팬이 되면서 중국에 대한 편견을 거두거나 일부는 중뽕으로 변질되는(...) 경우도 많아졌다.[14]

4. 중국군빠

중국이 군사력 순위 2,3위에 위치에 있는 군사강국인 데다가, 중국 무기만의 특징 때문에 밀덕 중에도 중빠가 되는 경우가 있다. 또한 미군과 자위대에 반감을 가지는 경우 중국군을 이들과 대적하는 군대라고 생각하여 중국군을 좋아하게 되는 경우도 있다. 그 외에 병영부조리나 똥군기 문제 때문에 삼대기율 팔항주의를 내세우는 중국군을 옹호하는 사람도 있다.

그리고 중국은 제2차 세계 대전 당시 중요한 전선이 된 중일전쟁에서 일본 제국을 상대로 활약하며 승리했기 때문에 대전기 중국군을 좋아하게 되는 경우도 있다. 그러나 일본을 상대로 이기고 한국 독립군을 도와준 이들은 중화민국 국민혁명군과 장제스 총통이다.

4.1. 행태

중국 인민지원군을 옹호하는 경우: 6.25 전쟁 때 개입하여 북한을 도와 통일을 막은 중국 인민지원군을 책임이 없다고 비호하는 경우가 많다. 중공군의 6.25 전쟁 개입은 소련의 강제로 이루어졌고, 중국은 파병국일 뿐이니 전쟁에 대한 책임이 없으며, 중공군은 6.25 전쟁에서 전쟁범죄를 일으키지 않고 신사적이었다는 것을 논리로 들며 6.25 전쟁 당시의 중공군을 옹호한다. 애초에 전쟁에 참전하는 것부터가 살상의 의도를 지니고 들어오는 것이다. 게다가 "북한 정권을 모두 집어삼킴은 만주 지역의 중국 지배를 유명무실하게 만들어 중국에 위협이 될 수 있으니 어느어느 선은 넘지 마라"는 식으로 최후통첩이나 경고를 가한 것도 아니고 다짜고짜 참전한 것이라 외교적/국가적 결례라는 것에 변명의 여지는 전혀 없다.
중국인민해방군을 옹호하는 경우: 아시아의 평화를 위협하는 중국의 군사대국화를 옹호하며 중국은 GDP대비 군사비 지출이 다른나라보다 적으니 평화로운 나라라던가, 중국의 군사비 증강은 북한의 선군정치와 일본의 군국주의화 때문에 어쩔 수 없는 경우니 중국에게 잘못이 없다라는 주장을 하며 심지어 주한미군과 THAAD 철수를 주장하며 대신 주한중국군을 주둔시키고 한중동맹을 강화하자는 주장을 하기도한다.

5. 중뽕이 되는 이유

5.1. 반서방 성향

상술된 미얀마 군부 이외에도 반서방 성향으로 중뽕이 된 사례를 또 한 가지 언급하자면 헝가리의 오르반 빅토르가 이끌었던 피데스를 들 수 있다. 피데스는 특유의 유럽회의주의 성향에 기반한 이념을 바탕으로, 유럽연합의 보편적인 견해에 대해 반대하고 노골적으로 중뽕 행보를 보였던 바 있다. 한 편으로 오르반 빅토르와 그 지지자들의 성향은 트럼프주의와의 관계가 밀접하기 때문에 반서방 성향이라고 단정짓기는 논란이 있긴 하다. 좀 더 정확하게 말하자면 유럽연합 등 서방 선진국에서 제시하는 보편적 가치에 반대하는 정당 등에서 그 대안으로 중국을 찾는다고 생각할 수도 있다.

1990년대에서 2000년대 기준으로 목격되었던 케이스로는 안용근 교수의 저서 등에서 개고기 옹호 세력이 반서방 성향을 드러내는 과정에서 노골적인 친중 성향을 드러내기도 했으나 개고기 자체가 인기가 급감한 오늘날 기준으로는 보기 어려워졌다.

할리우드에서도 중국 시장을 잡으려고, 친중적인 내용을 넣거나 중국 혹은 중국인을 비중있게 등장시키는 경우도 많은데, 이것이 너무 지나친 나머지 영화의 작품성을 망치는 경우가 많아 팬들의 빈축을 사기도 한다. 왕좌의 게임 드라마를 벤치마킹하되 차이나머니를 노렸던 그레이트 월 같은 영화[18] 등이 대표적 사례.

중국과 금전적으로 엮여있는 해외 기관이나 인물들의 경우 조금이라도 중국 정권의 귀에 거슬리는 발언을 하면 사업적으로 중국으로부터 보복이나 불이익을 당할 가능성이 높다. 이 때문에 진심으로 중국이 옳다 생각하는 것이든 혹은 중국의 눈치를 보는 것이든 중국이 국제 사회로부터 정당하게 비판을 받을 사건이 터졌을 때 이에 대한 소견을 질문 받으면 묵비권을 행사하는 경우가 많다. 물론 묵비권을 행사하는 것만으로 중뽕으로 매도하기는 곤란하다만, 문제는 여기서 한 발자국 더 나아가 심지어 조선구마사 제작진마냥 중국 제국주의나 동북공정까지 열심히 옹호하는 경우이다. 이런 케이스의 경우 중국에 대해 별 다른 호감이 없더라도 경제적 이유 때문에 어쩔 수 없이 중국을 옹호하는 경우도 많다. 비교하자면 포퓰리스트 성향 정치인들이 특정 소수자 집단에 대해 혐오 감정을 선동하며 인기몰이를 하는 경우, 제국주의에 노골적으로 아첨하던 과거 식민부역자들의 사례 등을 유사한 케이스로 들 수도 있다.

5.3. 마오주의적 이념

마오주의의 특성 때문에 의외로 흔하다. 그럴 수밖에 없는 게 마오주의는 혁명의 주체를 농민으로 상정했기 때문에, 제3세계 저개발지역 혁명가들 입장에서는 도시 노동자들을 중추로 하는 기존 서구식 마르크스주의 노동운동보다는 마오주의 이데올로기과 전략을 답습하는 것이 효과적이기 때문이다. 같은 이유로 도서산간 지역에서 현지 주민과의 관계도 양호한 편으로 게릴라전에 강하다. 특히 네팔(네팔 혁명)과 내전기의 페루, 인도 북동부의 붉은 회랑(Red Corridor), 필리핀 일부 지역(필리핀 국가민주전선 내 신인민군 등) 같이 여전히 세계 자본주의 체제 편입이 상대적으로 더디고, 영농 사회구조가 여전히 강력할 경우 마오이즘은 미친 듯이 퍼져나가게 된다. 심지어 살라자르 시절 농업 경제 구조가 상당부분 유지되었던 포르투갈에서도 카네이션 혁명 당시 MRPP (Movimento Reorganizativo do Partido do Proletariado, 포르투갈 노동자공산당)[19]와 UDP (União Democrática Popular, 인민민주연합), OCMLP(포르투갈 마르크스-레닌주의 공산조직) 등의 마오이스트 정당들이 맹위를 떨쳤다.

제3세계 각국에서 마오이즘을 추종하는 혁명조직이 형성되었고 마오쩌둥이 집권하고 있던 시기인 1960-1970년대의 중국은 버마 공산당, 태국 공산당, 말레이 공산당, 낙살라이트, 필리핀 공산당을 비롯한 이러한 세력들을 전략적으로 지원하였는데, 중소 분쟁의 영향으로 마오이즘을 따르는 공산당들은 소련으로부터 지원을 받는 공산당들과 대립하는 일이 많았다.

해외 마오이즘 정당들 중에서는 포르투갈의 마오이스트들처럼 인종차별 철폐와 코스모폴리턴 문화를 추구하는 경우도 있지만,[20] 반대로 현지 농민들의 배타주의와 외국인 혐오증을 반영하여 극단적인 고립주의를 추구하는 경우도 없지 않다. ~~모택동이 중국인인데도 불구 전혀 눈치보지 않고~~ 자국 내 화교들을 대거 학살 혹은 추방시킨 캄보디아의 크메르 루주 정권(캄푸치아 공산당) 및 미얀마의 네윈 정권[21]이 대표적이다.

5.4. 공산주의에 따른 입장

공산주의자들 중에서 과거에 소련을 중심으로 한 제2세계를 지지했거나 그리워하는 경우 이에 대한 대안이나 투영으로써 중국을 바라보는 경우도 있다.

더 정확히 말하면, 사실 현 시점에서 주류 공산주의자들이 중국을 '완전한' 사회주의 국가로 보는 입장은 비주류로 밀려났다고 봐도 무방하다. 이는 덩샤오핑 이후 중국 공산당의 주류 입장이 된 중국 특색 사회주의가 사실상 사회주의적 이상을 저버리고 변질된 체제라고 보기 때문인데, 이때 중국의 체제를 어떻게 생각하느냐에 따라 공산주의자들 내에서도 입장이 갈리게 된다. 대표적으로 그 입장을 정리하자면

중국의 경제구조를 국가자본주의 체제로 보는 경우 중국의 체제에 대해 더 이상 사회주의와 연관시키지 않으며, 그저 또 다른 권위주의적 자본주의 국가로 여기게 된다. 이런 입장을 따른 대부분의 경우는 반중 입장을 취하게 되며, 중국공산당의 통치를 사실상 자본주의 체제에서의 자본가 위치를 대체한 것에 불과하다고 본다. 따라서 이들은 중국을 진정한 사회주의 체제로 나아가기 위해서는 중국 민중들의 중국공산당에 대항한 투쟁이 필요하다고 보며, 일부 관점의 경우 그 일차적 목적이 자본주의에 기반한 민주주의 체제라고 할지라도 일단은 지지하는 경우도 있다. 그러나 이 경우에도 공산주의자들이 일부 친중이나 중뽕 입장을 취하는 경우가 있는데, 이는 중국을 사회주의적 체제로 보기 때문이 아닌 미국의 패권주의 및 자본주의적 정책을 견제하는 역할로써 기능한다고 본 경우다. 즉, 아무리 중국의 체제가 변질되었다고 한들 적어도 제1세계의 수장이었던 미국보다는 더 공산주의자들에게 우호적이며, 중국이 미국의 패권주의를 견제하는 역할을 수행한다고 본 것이다. 다시 말해 미중 양측 중에 하나를 택한다면 중국이 더 낫다는 입장을 취하게 된 것. 다만 사실 이 경우는 엄밀한 의미의 종중이라기 보단 반미적 입장이 워낙 강하다 보니 그 반대급부로 미국에 대립하는 관계인 중국을 지지하게 된 것에 가깝다.

한편 중국의 체제가 어느 정도 사회주의에서 이탈하긴 했지만 그래도 '온전한 사회주의'로 돌아갈 수 있는 잠재적 국가로 여기는 '기형적 사회주의'로 보는 입장도 있다. 이 경우, 중국의 체제가 비록 자본주의적으로 돌아가는 부분이 크고, 극심한 빈부격차를 가지는 등 여러 '기형적'인 면모가 있긴 하지만 어찌되었건 중국의 경제구조는 상당부분 국영화되어 있고, 또한 공식적으로나 민간으로나 사회주의에 친화적인 사회적 인식이 유의미하게 존재한다는 것에 주목한다. 다시 말해서 중국은 잠재적으로 다시 '온전한' 사회주의 국가로 가게 될 가능성이 높으므로, 미중의 패권경쟁에서 중국을 지지하는 것이 공산주의의 입장에서 바람직하다는 것이다. 이 경우 중국을 보는 외교적 관점은 과거 냉전 시기 유로커뮤니즘 및 반권위주의 성향을 가진 경우을 제외한 공산주의자들이 소련을 충실히 옹호했던 관점과 유사하게 된다. 다만 그럼에도 불구하고 대중들의 입장에서 다소 기이할 수 있는 면모가 있는데, 아이러니하게도 이들 역시 중국 민중의 중국공산당에 대한 저항을 지지하는 입장이라는 것이다. 다만 이 경우는 중국의 공산주의자들이 일으킨 봉기만 지지하며, 자본주의적 입장을 내세운다면 중국공산당을 두둔한다. 이는 이들이 중국공산당을 지지하는 입장이 아닌, 중국의 잠재적 가능성을 지지하는 것에 가깝기 때문이다.

5.5. 해외 거주 중국계 이민자 및 교포들의 중뽕

캐나다 밴쿠버에서 홍콩계 이민자들이 중국 당국의 홍콩 민주화 운동 탄압을 고발하는 시위를 계속하자 중국계 이민자들이 이에 반발하며 홍콩은 중국의 일부라고 주장하는 친중 집회를 열고 있는 모습

중국으로부터 미국이나 캐나다 등지로 이민을 가고 심지어 이민 간 국가의 국적을 취득하고 나서도 극단적으로 중국을 옹호하고 찬양하는 중국계 해외 거주자들도 많다. 심지어 이들 중 일부는 중국 시민권자들의 몰표아래에 그 이민 간 국가의 정치 의원이 되어서 공식적인 차원에서 중국의 홍콩 민주화 탄압, 위구르족 핍박을 옹호하는 발언을 하기도 한다.

예를 들어 캐나다의 경우 브리티시 컬럼비아(BC)주로 이민와서 주 상원의원이 된 화교계 싱가포르인 출신의 유엔 파우 우 (Yuen Pau Woo) 의원은 원주민들을 학대한 캐나다가 중국을 비판할 자격이 없다며 중국에게 위구르족 문제를 해결할 것을 촉구하는 캐나다 당국의 발표에 반발하였으며 #, 중국계 캐나다인으로서 캐나다 BC주 법원 재판장직에까지 임명되었던 빌 이 (Bill Yee) 전 재판장은 중국의 위구르족 탄압 의혹은 날조된 거짓말이라는 발언을 하였다. #

이러한 서양 사회 내의 중국계 이민자들과 시민권자들의 중뽕 행태는 중국인은 물론 더어나가 그 나라에 거주 중인 이민자나 아시아 민족 전체에 대한 혐오 감정으로 서양인들 사이에서 퍼지는 계기가 되어 다른 이민자들에게 민폐를 끼치기도 한다.

서양 사회에서 자라나면서도 중국인 부모로부터 중국의 보수적이자 국수주의적인 문화를 강요받는 중국계 교포 자녀들은 오히려 반중 감정이나 심하면 동양인 전체에 대한 혐오감까지 키우게 되는 경우로 비뚤어지는 경우가 더 많다. 그러나 자신이 태어난 서양 사회에서 생김새 때문에 완벽히 서양인으로 받아들여지지 못하고 서양 언론이 심심찮게 본인의 뿌리인 중국인들을 자주 까는 모습을 보면서 이를 통한 정체성 혼란, 외로움, 그리고 열등감으로 비뚤어져 오히려 중뽕 수준으로 본인의 중국인 정체성에 집착하며 중국을 항상 옹호하고 응원하는 2세대 교포들도 드물게 발생한다.

5.6. 혐중에 맞서다 변질되는 경우

중국 사회 및 문화의 치부에 대해 과장하여 보도하는 경우도 적지 않고 이로 인해 중국인들에 대해 오해스럽거나 사실이 아닌 편견은 물론 혐중 여론, 중국인 차별 등이 생겨나기도 한다.

중국인과 결혼했거나 중국에서 혹은 해외의 중국인들과 같이 지내며 중국에 대한 호감을 쌓은 사람들의 경우 이러한 현상을 불쾌해하며 잘못된 편견을 바로잡기 위해 온라인 등지에서 중국인들을 적극적으로 변호해 주거나 보다 정확하고 올바른 사실을 알려 주기도 한다. 대개는 이 정도에서 그치지만 변호하는 과정에서 더욱 혐중적인 발언이나 주장들을 접하게 되고, 이에 반박하기 위해 더욱 친중적인 옹호나 변호를 하다가 중국에 대한 그 어떤 것도 일단은 옹호하고 보는 중뽕으로 빠지게 되기도 한다.

5.7. 권위주의에 대한 선호

단순히 민주주의보다 권위주의를 선호하는 경우다. 민주주의를 채택한 혼란한 저개발 국가에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 이들은 중국 공산당의 강력한 지도력 아래 성장한 중국 경제, 치안 등을 보고 인권과 같은 가치는 제쳐두고 강력한 국가 권력을 통해 일단 사회를 안정시키고 경제를 발전시키를 원한다. 혹은 이슬람 등 소수 민족으로 골치를 썩는 선진국에서도 찾을 수 있는데, 이들은 신장 위구르 교화 캠프등을 보고 다문화주의나 관용이 아니라 저게 바로 우리나라가 필요한 것이라고 (...) 여기기도 한다. 사실 중국과 비슷한 러시아를 옹호하는 사람들 중에 은근히 이런 경우가 많다. 다만 한국에서 반중감정에 비해 반러감정은 덜하다 보니 눈치를 덜 받는 것뿐이다.

6. 비판

6.1. 반(反)민주주의

중국이 독재국가라는 특징이 있는 탓에 대부분 독재에 대한 옹호의 양상을 띄고 있으며 일당 독재에 긍정적인 만큼 민주주의, 표현의 자유에 대해 부정적이다. 서구민주주의 국가들에서 나타나는, 포퓰리즘의 발생 가능성이나 일부 국가들의 기득권 편중 현상, 일부 국가들의 과격파의 대두를 문제로 삼는다. 물론 여기까지야 좋다. 문제는 중국의 권위주의 체제가 민주주의의 한계를 극복할 대안인가 관련한 질문이다.

과도한 검열로 인민의 발언권과 자유를 탄압하는 국가가 과연 민주주의의 모순을 해결할 대안책인가 관련해서 대답은 간단하다. 오늘날 미국이나 유럽연합, 영국으로 이민을 희망하는 제2세계, 제3세계 인재들은 많아도 중국으로 이민을 원하는 이민자들은 극히 드물다는 점에서 보듯, 즉 외국 사람들은 중국에서 이민 가 살기 싫어하지만 중국 사람들 중에는 외국 선진국으로 이민 가 살고 싶어하는 사람들이 넘쳐난다는 점에서 보듯 중국의 권위주의와 검열, 표현의 자유 탄압은 민주주의의 올바른 대안이 될 수 없다. 하지만 중뽕들은 이러한 현실은 외면한다.

그들은 티베트, 위구르, 탈북자, 파룬궁, 문화대혁명 등 자신들이 불리한 문제나 중국의 반인륜적인 인권유린 실태에는 눈을 감고 사천 대지진 악플 하나를 가지고 사골이 녹을 정도로 우려먹는다. 당연히 동북공정, 북중합병, 탈북자 문제나 남북분단 문제, 한중 갈등 문제 등에도 눈을 감거나 극도로 편향적인 시각으로 중국을 옹호한다. 문화대혁명에 대해서도 참여 민주주의의 정점이라고 주장하는 이들도 있다.[22]

6.2. 여론 조작

여론조사를 특정 대상들로만 해서 마치 이런 여론이 주류다 식으로 하던가, 위키에서 친중적인 서술만 하기도 한다. 이 위키의 중국 관련 항목의 과거 수정내역만 보아도 그렇다. 어쩌면 이 문서도 중빠들의 타깃일지도 모른다.

이렇게 중국의 여러 문제점을 무시하고 장점만을 과대포장하면서 중국이 세계최강이 된다거나 이미 세계최강의 국가라는 주장을 펼치며, 중국의 문제점에 대해서 비판하면 머지않아 고쳐질 문제점이라며 무시한다. 또한 대부분의 국가가 친중국가가 된 상태이며, 한국은 세계에서 얼마남지 않은 반중국가라던가, 중국을 우습게 보는 나라는 한국밖에 존재하지 않는다면서 친중을 강요하는 모습까지 보인다.

6.3. 반대 주장에 대한 치졸한 대응

가장 큰 문제점은 중국 공산당 정부나 중뽕들 모두 자신들에 대한 비판에 자신감 없이 매우 옹졸하게 대응한다는 것이다. 조금이라도 중국에 비판적인 내용 혹은 중국이 싫어하는 인물이나 미승인국이 등장하면 국가 차원의 정색하면서 민간의 불매운동을 조장하거나 및 인해전술을 동원한 사이버 테러 등으로 대응한다. 이런 치졸한 대응을 이른바 시진핑의 주도 하에서 오늘날 중국 교과서에서 중요하게 다루는 이른바 백년국치 개념을 통해 합리화하고 정당화되고 있다.

심지어 러시아 등 다른 제2세계 국가들과 비교해봐도 일체의 비판이나 풍자에 대한 중국의 치졸한 대응은 유별난 수준이다. 이를테면 007 시리즈나 람보 시리즈 같은 미국 영화에서 소련이나 러시아를 비하하면 러시아인들이 "아니 미국놈들이 우리나라를 이렇게 무서워하나보다."라는 식으로 오히려 즐거워하기도 하며#1 #2 아메리카 원주민들은 자신들이 악역으로 나오는 서부 영화를 오히려 즐겨보며 특히 해당 영화에서 악당으로 묘사된 자신들이 백인들을 사살하는 장면에 환호하며 즐거워한다는 것이 알려졌다.#1 #2 #3 반면 중국 공산당 관련해서 이러한 묘사가 나온다면 대응이 어떻게 되는지 대표적인 사례로는 Band in China(사우스 파크 에피소드) 이후 중국 온라인 상에서 사우스 파크가 기록말살당한 사례를 들 수 있겠다. 시진핑이 자신을 곰돌이 푸에 비교하는 것조차 유달리 치졸하게 반응하면서 검열하는 사례는 블라디미르 푸틴이나 도널드 트럼프조차 하지 않는 일이다.[23] 애초에 인지도 및 긍지가 높은 민족이나 나라에서는 창작물에서 자신들이 악역으로 나와도 지나치게 연연해하지 않는다.

6.4. 허울뿐인 중립, 실리주의 행세

중뽕들은 최대한 자신이 중국을 맹목적으로 지지하는 것을 숨기면서, 중립적인 척 하면서 중국을 두둔하는 전법을 자주 사용한다.

중국이 경제적, 군사적으로도 상당한 강국이고 과학기술이나 소프트파워도 상위권인 위대한 나라이고, 중국이 망하면 한국도 망한다든가 중국을 적대하면 한국은 더 이상 살아남을 수 없다는 등의 주장을 하며, 중국에 대한 사대는 한국의 입장에서 어쩔 수 없이 해야 한다는 주장을 하면서 중국에 대한 비판을 원천봉쇄하고 있다.

그렇기에 자신은 맹목적인 친중이 아닌 그저 한국의 국익과 실리를 위해 중국의 우호를 주장하는 것뿐이라며 자신들의 행동을 정당하다고 변명한다. 하지만 정작 중국 못지않은 기술, 정치, 군사, 외교, 문화교류가 있으며 중국 못지않게, 혹은 중국 이상의 경제규모나 경제력을 자랑하는 미국과 일본에 대해서는 반대의 논리를 적용하여 그까짓 이익보다 민족의 자긍심이 더 중요하다며 이중 잣대를 시전한다.

또한 이들은 미국과 서방은 우크라이나 사태만 봐도 신뢰 불가능이며 한국 또한 나중에는 서방이 입 싹 씻고 한국을 외면할 테니 '균형외교'를 해야 한다고 하지만, 정작 한국은 일본, 독일, 프랑스와 같이 파이브 아이즈에 준하는 미국의 핵심 동맹이다. 특히 한국이 반도체, 제조업이나 군수산업이 강하다며 분단국가라는 것을 보면 신냉전 시대의 한국은 냉전기의 서독과 유사한 위치이다. 이런 한국이 중국에 침공당했을 때 한국을 외면하는 것은 미국이 그냥 '내 패권 끝났습니다. 중국의 세기를 맞이하십쇼'를 선언하는 것과 같다. 즉, 정치적 자살이라는 것이다. 만약 동독과 소련이 서독을 침공했을 때, 미국이 서독을 버리는 것은 있을 수가 없으며, 한국이 중국과 북한의 침략을 당했을 때도 마찬가지이다. 적어도 한국은 3차 세계대전이 일어나 러시아군이 유럽의 NATO군을 대서양으로 밀어내고 뉴욕과 보스턴에 상륙하며 중국이 미 해군을 모조리 수장시키고 하와이를 점령하고 샌프란시스코와 로스앤젤레스까지 상륙하는 지경까지 가지 않는 이상 미국에게 버려질 가능성은 없다. 이 시점이면 미국은 그나마 남아 있을지 모르는 동맹은 고사하고 자기 자신을 방어하는 것도 힘들 정도의 막장 상황일 것이기 때문이다.

6.5. 피장파장의 오류

중국의 비판이나 문제점을 받아들이는 척하면서 중국과 대립중인 다른 국가들을 언급하며 다른 국가들은 중국보다 더 문제가 많았던 시절이 있었다거나 중국보다 더한 만행을 저질렀다는 주장을 하며 중국에 대한 비판을 봉쇄하는 경우도 있다. 이는 위에서 언급한 여러 타국에 대한 혐오와도 직결되는 내용이 많다.

이들은 서방제국주의 운운하며 중국을 정당화하지만, 서구권이 과거에 저지른 악행은 중국의 패악질을 정당화하지 않는다. 가령 중국의 티베트 탄압을 비판하면 이들은 '미국도 원주민 학살했잖아?' 등을 말하며 물타기를 시도한다. 정작 미국의 소수민족 처우는 중국보다 낫고[24] 미국이 그런 잘못을 저질렀다 해도 중국의 탄압 사실이 없어지진 않는다.

6.6. 여담

한국에서는 이웃나라인 일본을 찬양하는 일뽕들은 상당히 많은 것에 비해 중뽕들의 숫자는 적은 편이다. 커뮤니티 상에서는 "일뽕은 일본에 가본 적도 없는 한국인이고 중뽕은 번역기 돌린 중국인이다"라는 밈도 존재할 정도다. 실제로 종북은 중뽕을 하지 않으며[25] 한국 대부분의 정당과 정치인들 역시, 일부가 친중일 수도 있어도 중뽕까지 간 정치인은 없다. 20년대 이후 국내에서 중국 게임의 선호도가 크게 늘어났으나 덕질이 사상으로 변질된 일뽕과는 달리 국가와 정치까지 옹호하고 찬양하는 유형은 아직 없다.

아무래도 이러나 저러나 선진국이면서 같은 미국의 동맹국으로 묶여있는 일본과 달리 1990년대까지 교류가 드물었으며 반서방 국가라는 점과, 대의 민주주의 체계가 정립되지 않은 국가라는 차이점에 기인하고 있다.

그나마 반미 감정이 강한 제3세계에서는 자주 보이기도 한다. 대개 중국의 초고속 경제 성장을 찬양하며 일당독재 체제의 효율성, 베이징, 상하이, 충칭, 선전과 같은 1선급 대도시들의 화려한 야경, 샤오미와 DeepSeek, 텐센트(BAT, BATX) 및 각종 IT 스타트업들로 대표되는 비롯한 중국의 뛰어난 기술력, 우수한 치안[26], 중국인들의 지능과 교육 체계, 옛 한족 왕조들의 부유함과 선진성[27] 등등을 고평가하는 식.

[1] 원래 이름인 '테워드로스'를 변형시켜서 만든 이름인데, 테워드로스를 음차한 것은 아니고 별개로 지어서 만든 이름이다.[2] 중화권에서도 親華派(친화파, pro-China)와 親中派(친중파, Sinophilia)를 구별한다. 중국어 위키백과에서도 개별 등재되어 있다.[3] 이쪽은 대만빠 또는 중화민국빠에서 서술한다.[4] 중화민국 (대만)빠 포함.[5] 1990년대, 2000년대 이후 출생한 소분홍들 사이에서 일본 애니메이션이 인기를 끌고 중국공산당이 한한령의 대항마로 일본 문화 콘텐츠를 은근히 밀어주면서 이 세대 중국인들은 과거 세대에 비해 상당한 친일 성향을 가지고 있다. 그래서인지 구 일본군 군복을 입고 코스프레를 하거나 기모노를 입고 외출한 여성이 논란이 되어 비판을 받는 등 부작용도 나오고 있는 중.[6] 일본의 혐한 극우 정치인들의 사례를 생각해보자[7] 북한이 안둘기나 T-34 전차 같은 소련 시대 고물을 아직도 쓰면서 전세계의 웃음거리가 되는 이유 중 하나가 러시아가 아직까지도 1차 불곰사업 당시의 조항을 그대로 따라 북한에 최신무기를 지원하지 않기 때문이다.[8] 같은 맥락에서 중국 정부에서 대한민국 지역 언론사를 사칭하는 수십 개의 한국어 뉴스 사이트를 만들었다가 국정원에 적발되었던 바 있었다.#[9] 조선구마사 관련 논란이 한창이던 당시 논란이다. 정작 한국에서 공자가 한국인이라 생각하거나 주장하는 사람들은 이를테면 UFO가 인간을 창조했다는 음모론을 믿는 사람 수준으로 소수 중의 소수일 뿐이다.[10] 비교하자면 대한민국이 본격적으로 선진국으로 진입하기 이전 1990년대만 해도 고구려가 삼국을 통일했더라면 같은 가상 역사를 다루는 토론이나 논의 등이 지금보다 훨씬 더 진지하고 애절하게 다뤄졌던 바 있었는데, 2020년대 들어서 대한민국이 1인당 GDP에서 일본을 추월하거나 엎치락뒤치락하는 상황으로 올라간 오늘날 기준으로 이런 가상의 과거사 논의를 하는 경우가 드물어졌다.[11] 로마 시절 유산이 중세에 들어 사라지거나 쇠퇴하였다는 잘못된 인식이 오랫동안 있었으나 학계에서는 이미 오래전에 재평가가 이루어진 얘기다. 대표적인 예가 고딕 건축과 음악의 발전.[12] 애당초 유럽 문명의 조상인 에게 해 문명의 역사가 황하 문명보다 더 오래됐다. 그런데 한국에는 황하 문명이 더 오래된 줄 아는 사람들이 대부분.[13] 착각의 여지가 있어 조금 부연설명을 하자면, 여기서 말하는 에게 해 문명은 크레타 문명 얘기다. 우리가 알고 있는 그리스 문명 자체는 황하문명보다 조금 늦는 게 맞다.[14] 단, 이런 경우는 쯔위, 양잉, 슈화 등 중화권 출신까지 두루 좋아하는 경우가 많다.[15] 참고로 2014년 말 유가 폭락은 오바마 행정부에서 같은 해 러시아의 크림 반도 합병을 견제하기 위해서 산유국에 압력을 넣어 주도했다는 가설도 있다.[16] 참고로 걸프 아랍 왕정 국가들은 이란을 견제하기 위해서 심지어 이스라엘하고도 손을 잡는 마당이다.[17] 카쇼기는 친 무슬림 형제단 성향의 이슬람주의자로 미국을 비롯한 서방 입장에서 그렇게 막 달가운 사람까지는 아니었다.[18] 작품 자체는 왕좌의 게임을 안 봤던 사람이 보기에는 볼만하다. ~~봤던 사람이 보는 경우 감상 자체가 고문이 되어서 문제이지.~~[19] 변호사이자 대학교수 출신 정치인인 안토니오 가르시아 페레이라(안토니오 가르시아 페레이라)가 이끌던 정당.[20] 물론 이들 역시 포르투갈 식민지 전쟁 당시 적어도 초창기에는 포르투갈 해외 식민지 포기를 반대하는 기존 정권에 동의하는 입장이었다.[21] 다만 미얀마에는 중국의 지원을 받는 마오주의 공산당인 버마 공산당(Communist Party of Burma)이 있었다.[22] 일단 인터뷰 대상인 다니엘 벨의 주장은 현대의 선거제 민주주의 및 1인 1표제가 비합리적인 구석이 있으며, 이보다 더 나은 정치 모델도 모색할 필요가 있다는 것인데 이 자체가 괴상한 생각이라고 할 수는 없다. 단지 그 대안 모델의 샘플로 제시해 주는 사례가 하필 중국의 정치인지라 영 납득이 안 갈 뿐[23] 서구권은 궁정광대 문화나 유교문화권의 사간원 등에서 보듯이 지도자가 자신에 대한 비판이나 풍자에 민감하고 신경질적으로 대응하면, 대단히 특출한 업적을 남긴 인물이 아닌 이상 수준 미달의 인물로 평가받기 마련이다.[24] 물론 미국 원주민이 100% 차별받지 않는다고 말하기는 힘들지만, 적어도 현재 미국은 신장 재교육 캠프 같은 건 없다. 그리고 이들은 어퍼머티브 액션으로 사회에서 각종 혜택을 받으며 지금도 존재하는 인디언 보호 구역에서 살 수 있다.[25] 김정일은 유언으로 일본은 100년의 적이지만 중국은 1000년의 적이라며 중국을 경계할 것을 김정은에게 주문한 바 있다.[26] 한국과 일본에서는 중국의 치안에 대한 부정적인 인식이 강하지만 이쪽 동네는 정반대다. 한일 양국이 워낙 넘사벽이라 그렇지, 사실 ~~독재국가답게~~ 중국의 치안은 세계적인 기준으로 봤을 때 꽤나 상위권이다.[27] 명나라와 정화의 대원정은 결코 빠지는 법이 없다.[28] 중뽕의 대선배격 되는 부류[29] 다만 소중화 사상은 중국 문화를 과도하게 찬양한다는 점에서는 중뽕이지만 그 결과가 중국이 아닌 자국 찬양으로 이어진다는 점에서 중뽕과는 관련은 있지만 차이점도 만만찮게 많다.[30] 소련 해체 이후 최대 규모의 공산주의 국가로 중국을 내세우며 중국을 찬양한다. 물론 이 중에도 소뽕 기질을 여전히 버리지 않은 이들도 많다.
