2. 상세

난이도의 경우 베리파이어인 Pocle이 본인의 하디스트인 Abyss of Darkness, KOCMOC보다 어렵다고 평가하였다[4][5]. Pocle의 생각과 다르게 12위라는 다소 낮은 순위에 등재되었으나, 순위가 더 오를 가능성도 있어보인다.[6]

또한 이 레벨은 The Hallucination을 꺾고 한국인이 만들고 베리파이한 레벨 중 가장 어려운 레벨이 되었다.

2.1. 배경

전작과 마찬가지로 메이플스토리에서 래퍼런스를 가져온 것이 특징. 트뤼에페와 달리 리멘에 있는 '끝에 가까운 곳'의 디자인과 이름을 따왔다.

0% ~ 9%
입구컷 하는 파트
The Hallucination과 Trueffet의 초반을 섞은 듯한 느낌이 나는 큐브 파트. 무려 첫 점프부터 120프레임 퍼펙트다. 게임 플레이가 큐브, 볼, 거미 칼타로 이루어져 있다는 점에서 Tunnel of Despair와 비슷한 느낌이 난다.
9% ~ 17%
프레임 퍼펙트 1자비행으로 가득한 비행 파트. 몇몇 구간은 공점을 누른 상태에서 쭈욱 눌러야 하는 악랄한 게임플레이가 들어가 있다. The Hallucination도 이 느낌이 나지만 Subterminal Point는 이 느낌보다 더하다.[7]
15% ~ 22%
공점 볼 파트. 다른 파트들과 달리 개인차가 조금 심하긴 하지만, 익데 하위권 정도의 난이도를 가진 파트이다.
22% ~ 27%
거미 파트. 어디서 눌러야하는지 하나하나 다 외워야한다. 마지막쯤에 큐브 모드로 변경된다. 보기에만 쉬워보이지 실제로 프렉티스를 돌려본다면 어느 부분쯤에서 눌러야 할지 어림해서 눌러야한다.
27% ~ 35%
중력 반전이 몇몇 있는 비행 파트. 이곳에도 여전히 1자비행이 있다. 9~17% 구간에서 나왔던 공점을 누른 상태에서 쭈욱 눌러야하는 악랄한 요소가 너무나 많다.
35% ~ 44%
웨이브 파트. Trueffet의 웨이브 파트가 떠오르는 파트다. 대부분 가시들에 보정가시를 박아두어서 보정가시로 인한 사망이 잦은 편인 파트다.
44% ~ 53%
큐브, 볼, 비행 등의 모드들이 등장한다. 순간난이도가 미쳐 돌아가는 드랍 내에서는 쉬어가는 파트이다.[8]
53% ~ 63%
비좁은 길을 지나는 웨이브 파트. 이 파트도 Trueffet의 웨이브 파트와 비슷하며 중간중간에 큐브 모드로 바뀌기도 한다. 첫 웨이브 쯤에 있는 마지막 가시는 베리파이어인 Pocle이 너프했을 정도로[9] 상당히 어려웠다. 중간에는 패턴을 깨부수는 파트까지 섞여있어서 더 어려워진다.
63% ~ 80%
큐브, 로봇 파트. 몇몇 공점과 피지컬로 이루어져 있다. 대부분 가시에 보정가시를 박아놓아서 그런지 몇몇 클릭에는 프레임 퍼펙트가 있다. 몇몇 구간은 타이밍을 잘 맞춰 점프를 뛰어야한다.
80% ~ 88%
비행 파트. 1자 비행이 섞여있다. 공점을 누르고 쭉 누르는 파트가 없기 때문에 다른 비행파트들보다는 쉽다.
88% ~ 100%
마지막 큐브 파트. 마지막 2단가시를 넘으면 맵이 끝나는데 이때 3배속에서 1배속으로 바뀌는 변속이 있다. 96%부터 엔딩이다.

4. 역사

4.1. 베리파이 과정

2023년 5월 21일, 풀 쇼케이스가 업로드되었으며 Plusxenon[10]이 베리파이어를 구한다는 말을 했다. 이에 대해 PoCle은 메인 리스트 레벨 베리파이도 해보고싶고 맵도 마음에 들어서 바로 베리파이를 하겠다고 했다고 한다.

2024년 5월 27일, 56%~100% 구간을 프로그래스했다. # 당시에 TOP 25[11]라고 평가했다.

2024년 6월 16일, 23~71% 구간을 프로그래스했다. # TOP 30급[12]라고 평가했었다.

2024년 6월 23일, 50%를 달성했다. # 너프를 많이 했는데도 어렵다는 평가를 내렸다.

2024년 9월 17일, 68%를 달성했다. #[13]

2024년 9월 20일, 46~100%와 23~77%를 프로그래스했다.#

2024년 12월 12일, 24~84%를 프로그래스했다. #

2024년 12월 29일, 72,892어템을 들여 베리파이에 성공했다![14] # 난이도는 TOP 28, LIMBO 이상으로 평가하였지만, 이후 AoD를 깬 후 이 맵-AoD-KOCMOC 순으로 평가하였다. 하지만 이 맵과는 다르게 AoD는 CBF를 사용하면서 클리어했다는 차이점이 있고, 이 때문인지 PoCle 본인도 신뢰도가 딱히 없는 의견이라는 사족을 덧붙였다.

4.2. 레이팅 과정

2024년 12월 27일, 베리파이되었으며 레벨이 서버에 업로드되었다.

2025년 1월 1일, 본격적으로 쇼케이스들이 올라오기 시작하며 레벨의 인지도가 높아졌다.

2025년 1월 24일, 28일만에 레이팅되었다.

4.3. 순위 변동

2025년 2월 24일, 12위에 등재되었다.[15] 하지만 일각에서는 아직 저평가이며 충분히 더 올라갈 수 있다고 평가하고 있다.[16]

2025년 3월 14일, andromeda가 5위에 배치되어 13위로 떨어졌다.

4.4. 클리어 기록

한국 시간 2025년 3월 15일, Zoink가 단 5,278 어템만을 소모하여 클리어하였다. 맵을 굉장히 혐오하는 발언과 리액션은 덤. #[17]

다음 날인 2025년 3월 16일, GGonop가 55,732 어템을 소모하여 2번째로 클리어하였다. # 자신의 이전 하디스트였던 poocubed보다 훨씬 어렵다고 평가하였다.

5. 비판 및 평가


레벨 자체에 대한 평가는 다소 미묘하거나 좋지 않은 편이다. 고작 4만 남짓한 오브젝트로 레벨 전체를 구현한 점은 높은 평가를 받지만, 블럭 디자인이나 배경이 다소 반복적이라 성의가 없다고 느낄 수 있으며, 결정적으로 전작인 Trueffet과의 괴리가 심하다는 점에서 불호하는 의견이 많다. 전작은 빠르고 강렬한 분위기를 선보여 호평이 많았지만 이번 작은 너무 밍밍하다는 평이다. 평이한 진행에 잔잔한 노래까지 한 몫한다.

가장 많이 지적당하는 것이 게임플레이인데, 전작의 호평받던 트랜지션에 비해 단순한 큐브 칼타, 좁기만 한 비행기와 웨이브 파트로 난이도를 올린다. 이는 레벨 곳곳에 박혀있는 보정가시도 한몫했는데, 이 때문에 히트박스가 좁아지면서 프레임 퍼펙트의 개수도 급등했다. 보정가시는 Avernus에서도 혹평을 받으며 레벨의 평가를 떨어뜨린 전적이 있는 만큼, 유튜브 댓글 등에서 비판을 받으며 SP에서도 지적받고 있다.

이로 인해 Falseffet라는 멸칭까지 생겼다. 다만 비판에 대한 반론도 있으며 호불호도 분명히 존재하는[18] 레벨이다. 이 레벨은 속편이지 리메이크는 아니며, 둘 모두 메이플스토리 기반이라는 점에서 연관성도 있다. 결국 Trueffet과의 다른 분위기가 의견이 갈리는 결정적인 이유이기 때문에, 타인의 의견에 매몰되지 않고 본인의 주관으로 레벨을 평가하는 것이 중요하다.

레벨에 대한 악평이 단순 비판을 넘어 분탕으로 이어지는 현상도 보이는 중이다. 댓글에서는 이 레벨을 익스트림 데몬 중 가장 싫어요가 많은 레벨으로 만들자고 하거나[19], 비판에 반박하는 댓글들에 비추천을 눌러 하단까지 내려가게 하고 스팸으로 판정되게 하는 여론 조작을 벌이고 있다. [20]

6. 후속작: Labyrinth


메이플스토리의 고통의 미궁이 테마이다. 중간에 진 힐라가 배경으로 나오는 것을 볼 수 있다. 전작에서 좋은 평을 받는 부분인 노래와의 궁합을 더욱 끌어 올렸으며 이펙트와 디자인 면에서 훨씬 개선되었다.

제목인 '미궁'답게 여러 갈래로 나누어진 길 등 암기 요소가 있으며 전작에 비해 게임플레이가 더 다채롭고 역동적이다. 레벨 자체는 짧지만 클릭 하나하나가 빡빡한 배치로 이루어져있어, Top 5급의 난이도를 가지고 있다. 베리파이 될 시 Subterminal Point를 꺾고 한국인 제작 하디스트가 될 가능성이 높다.

실제 플레이는 나쁠 것으로 예상되는데, Hqmy에 따르면 암전 트랜지션이 있는 등 기본적으로 게임플레이가 엉망진창(kinda fucked base)[21]이라고 한다. SyQual이 Acheron보다 어려운 난이도를 원해 별로 할 수 있는 건 없지만 트랜지션을 손 볼 예정이다.#

Every End의 베리파이어로 잘 알려진 Hqmy가 베리파이를 진행하고 있다. Acheron보다 어려운 난이도가 목표이며 2일차에 7,600어템 소모해 71-95%을 달성했다.#
