2020년 8월 24일 업로드 된 문승원의 아들과 이형삼 코치 딸의 돌잔치 영상에서 아들 하나와 딸 하나를 낳고 싶다고 했다.

김강민, 추신수, 한유섬과 같은 베테랑 선배들이 입을 모아 칭찬할 정도로 워크에식이 뛰어나다.[2] 실제로 위 세 외야수 선배에게 타격이나 출루와 관련된 많은 고민들을 털어놓는 모양.

준수한 외모와 투지 넘치는 플레이 스타일로 쓱린이들과 도원아재, 여성팬들 모든 팬층의 사랑을 고루 받고 있다.

응원가가 CCM이지만, 정작 최지훈 본인은 무종교인이다. 게다가 그가 졸업한 대학교인 동국대학교는 불교 계열 대학이다.

어려보이는 얼굴에 비해 목소리가 상당히 연륜있는 것 같은 목소리다.

의외로 어릴 때는 운동보다는 공부를 잘하고 싶어했다고 한다.

초등학교 여름방학 때 2주간 학원을 다니며 공부를 하다가 폐렴에 걸려 입원을 한 적이 있었는데[3], 퇴원 후에 하루 치 공부를 다 한 보상으로 1시간 가량의 자유시간을 얻었고 그 때 자전거를 타고 놀다가 집에 들어 왔다고 한다. 신나게 놀다 온 어린 최지훈이 집 대문을 열고 들어 오는데 공부할 때와는 전혀 다른, 땀을 흘리며 초롱초롱한 눈동자를 가지고 귀가하는 걸 어머니가 보시고 '얘는 운동을 시켜야 하겠구나.' 라고 생각하셔 운동을 시키게 되었다고 한다.[4]

고등학교 3학년 시절이던 2015년 다음 시즌 신인드래프트에서 지명을 받지 못했을 때 야구를 아예 그만 둘 생각을 했었다고 한다.

고교 마지막 전국대회 일정과 드래프트가 겹쳐 대회가 끝나자마자 부랴부랴 드래프트 중계를 틀었는데 당시 2차 8라운드까지 지명이 끝난 상태였고 최지훈을 비롯한 같은 팀 친구들이 아무도 지명 받지 못했던 상황이었다고 한다. 그래서 화가 난 몇몇 친구들이 유니폼을 벗어 집어 던지며 "나 야구 안 해요!" 라며 자리를 박차고 나갔었는데, 최지훈도 그 무리 중 한 명이었다고 한다. 실제로 이 해 최지훈과 동기였던 1997년생 광주일고 3학년 중 프로 지명을 받은 선수는 KIA의 마지막 라운드 지명을 받은 류승현이 유일했다.[5] 그리고 그날 새벽 3시까지 어머니와 통화를 하며 '나 이제 뭐해야 하냐', '도대체 뭐 해 먹고 살아야 하냐'고 울었다고 한다.
물론 대학교 진학이라는 선택지가 있지만, 다시 1학년 신입생으로 들어가서 청소와 빨래를 하며 버티는 것도 힘들고[6] 대학교에서 다시 4년동안 야구를 한다고 해도 무조건 프로에 지명을 받는다는 보장이 없다는 것이[7] 너무 무서웠다고 한다. 그렇게 부모님과 이야기를 나누던 중 어머니의 "집을 팔아서라도 4년 간 운동에 필요한 모든 것을 지원할 테니, 이왕 시작한 야구 생활의 진짜 마지막이라 생각하고 한번 해봐라" 라는 말을 듣고 용기를 얻어 동국대에 진학 했다고 한다.

SK 와이번스에 지명 받을 줄은 상상도 못했다고 한다. 드래프트 당시 다른 구단이 모두 2차 3라운드 지명을 끝내고 SK의 순서만 남겨두고 있었는데,[8] 자신의 이름이 불리지 않아 '에이 나가리네...'[9] 라고 생각하고 5~6라운드 쯤, 중위 라운드에 지명 되겠다고 생각했다고 한다. 그런데 마침 자신의 이름이 불렸고, 너무 깜짝 놀라서 일어났다고 한다.

대학 시절 시합 때마다 광주일고 선배인 조영민 당시 그룹장에게 맨날 혼났다고 한다. ~~너 이 새끼야 고등학교 때랑 변한 게 없냐? 계속 야구 그렇게 해라!~~ 그래서 더더욱 상위 라운드 지명은 예상 하지 못했고, 지명 받고 난 뒤 가족들과 많이 울었다고 한다.

가장 존경하는 인물은 아버지. 실제로 핸드폰에도 아버지의 이름을 "내우상" 으로 해놓았다.

여동생이 같은 팀의 김창평과 동창이다.

스프링 캠프 영상에서 로맥이 이상형을 물어 봤지만 비밀이라고 한다. 대신 좋아하는 연예인으로는 김민정과 안소희를 뽑았다.

팬서비스가 매우 좋다.

아이 어른 가릴 것없이 팬들이 인사하면 다 받아줄 뿐만 아니라, 2021년 6월 9일 KT전에서 한유섬이 외야에 있던 쓱린이에게 공을 던져 주었는데 그 공이 튕겨 다른 쓱린이에게 가버렸다. 그 모습을 지켜보고 있다가 마음이 쓰였던지 공을 받지 못한 아이에게 공이 튕겨 나가 다른 곳으로 갔다면서 설명도 해주고, 다음 이닝 때는 직접 공을 하나 더 가지고 와서 그 어린이에게 다시 선물 해 주었다.

2021년 5월 27일 쓱튜브에 한유섬의 딸 한예소의 영상이 업로드 되었는데 예소에게 오빠드립을 치는 만행(…)을 저지르고 말았다, 옆에서 같이 예소를 보러온 김태훈은 당황하고 한유섬은 뭔 오빠냐며 한소리하고 쓱튜브 편집자 역시 양심이 어디갔냐며 편집하였다, 아빠가 한소리 할 정도였으니 팬들의 반응은 말하지 않아도…[10]

유튜브 빵송국과 피식대학을 통해 유명세를 타고있는 개그맨 이창호와 상당히 닮은 외모를 자랑한다. 2020년 당시 슼튜브 컨텐츠에서 박종훈에 의해 모델 방주호와 닮은꼴로 지목되기도 했다. 한때 같은 팀 동료였던 이승진과도 꽤 닮은 편.[11]

야구를 잘하기 위해 종교도 없는데 기도도 해보고 왜소함을 극복하기 위해 닭가슴살 + 우유 + 프로틴 쉐이크를 갈아 먹었다고 한다. 야구를 잘하기 위해서 여러 가지 안해본 것 없이 다 해본거 같다고.

첫 안타 볼은 광주 본가에 있다고 한다. 아버지가 술을 담그는 병에 공을 모아두셨다고 한다. 이 외에도 첫 홈런 공, 첫 타점 공 등이 중요한 공들이 모두 들어 있다고 한다.

살이 잘 빠지는 체질이다. 본인은 이러한 부분이 컴플렉스이자 가장 큰 스트레스라고. 이러한 점을 보완하기 위해 웨이트를 더 많이 하고, 더 많이 먹었다고 한다. 정말 토하기 직전까지 꾸역꾸역 먹고 혼자서 라면을 5~6개 끓여먹기도 한다고...[12] 하지만 체질 때문인지 여름이 되면 어쩔 수 없이 살이 빠진다고 한다. 실제로 시즌 전반기와 후반기의 얼굴을 비교 해보면 얼굴 살이 점점 빠지는게 눈에 보인다.

붙이는 형식의 아이패치를 하고 나서는 눈 밑의 피부가 까지고 상처가 나서[13] 붙이는 형식의 아이패치 대신 직접 손으로 바르는 아이블랙을 사용 했었다. 하지만 언제부턴가 다시 붙이는 아이패치를 사용하는 중이다.

아이패치 혹은 아이블랙을 한 모습이 가오나시를 닮은 것 같다고 해서 덕아웃이 초토화됐었다. 추신수는 가오나시가 뭔지 몰라서 이해하지 못한 눈치였는데, 사진을 보고 납득해버렸다.

불타는 그라운드에서 김강민이 여자친구가 있어야 한다고 엄청난 조언을 했는데, 최지훈 본인은 아직 여자친구가 없다고 한다. #[14]

하지만 2022년 11월 19일 밥굽남의 유튜브 라이브 방송에서 이상형이 뭐냐는 질문에 노코멘트로 대답 하였다가, 옆에서 집요하게 계속해서 질문을 하자 현재 만나는 사람이 있다고 밝혔다. 올해 커리어하이를 달성 한 것과 시즌을 잘 마무리 한 것도 만나는 분의 덕이 없지 않아 있다고. 연애 사실을 밝혀도 괜찮냐는 주변의 반응에 '못할 것도 아니다.' 라는 쿨한 반응은 덤.

가끔씩 허당인 모습을 보인다. SK 와이번스의 Wyverns를 Wabons(...)라고 표기한다거나, 동기와 동갑을 착각해서 김찬형을 동기라고 말했다. 당연하지만 김찬형은 최지훈보다 프로데뷔가 빠르며, 최지훈은 2020년 드래프트 출신인 지라 동기인 선수를 말하라고 하면 오원석이나 김성민, 이거연, 현원회, 전의산 등을 말하는 게 맞는 표현이긴 하다.

불타는 그라운드에서 추신수가 내새끼, 마이베이비라고 칭했다. 많이 아끼는 후배인 듯하다.

현재 사용하고 있는 등번호 54번은 신인 시절 때 남는 번호가 이것 뿐이라 선택 하였다고 한다.[15] 54번을 계속 사용할 것이냐는 질문에 그 번호 달고 성적이 좋게 나와서 바꿀 마음은 없다고 했다. 또한 본인의 유니폼을 사준 팬들을 생각해서라도 바꿀 마음이 크게 없다고.[16]

MBTI는 ESTP였으나 최근에 ESTJ로 바뀌었다고 한다. 본인은 그 둘의 차이를 잘 모르겠고 운동할 때만 E인 성향인 것 같다고. 출처

피부가 좋은 편이다. # 비결에 대해 클렌징 오일과 클렌징 폼으로 2차 세안을 하고, 팩과 선크림 등을 적극적으로 사용 한다고 한다.

현재는 나이론 한살 아래지만 입단은 더 빨리 한 박성한과 엮여서 "후니하니"(...)로 불리는 중이다. 때마침 둘은 각각 중견수와 유격수로 센터라인을 구성중이고, 2022시즌 들어와서 각 포지션에서 리그 정상급 선수로 거듭났기에 SSG 랜더스 팬들 사이에서는 "김광현과 최정을 이을만한 새 프랜차이즈가 드디어 나타났다"라고 반기는 기색이다. 최지훈과 마찬가지로 2020년 드래프트로 입단한 전의산과 오원석 역시 뛰어난 활약으로 팬들의 기대를 모으고 있는 중이다.

현재 SSG 팬들 사이에서 2023년 월드 베이스볼 클래식 대표팀에 발탁되면서 테이블세터로의 활약을 기대하는 팬들이 많아졌다. 향후 10년간 대표팀 외야수에서 이정후와 함께 외야수를 안심하고 맡길 수 있는 선수로 성장했다.

SSG 랜더스 공식 유튜브 채널이 구독자 10만을 찍은 후 촬영한 선수단 및 코치진의 감사 영상에서 거의 대부분의 선수, 코치진이 구독자 증가에 가장 큰 영향을 끼친 인물로 최지훈을 꼽았다.

이강철과 같은 무등중 - 광주일고 - 동국대 졸업생이다. 이강철도 야구장 전광판에 나오는 최지훈의 학력을 보고 동국대 출신이라 생각하여 반갑게 느꼈다고 했으나, 최지훈 본인이 광주일고에 무등중도 같이 졸업했다고 어필하였다.

배우 안은진이 전지적 참견 시점에 게스트 출연했을때 SSG 랜더스의 팬 인증과 더불어 최애 선수가 최지훈이라고 밝혀 잠시 화제가 됐다. 이후 2023년 9월 30일 경기에서 시구를 하게 되었으나 안타깝게도(?) 최지훈은 아시안 게임에 차출되어 만남이 불발되었다.

SSG의 전신 SK에서 뛰었던 용병 짐 매그레인과 생일이 7월 23일로 같은데, 등번호도 54번[18]으로 같다. 거기다가 최지훈은 SK에서 마지막으로 54번을 사용한 선수이다.

본인의 생일날마다 경기가 우천 취소되는 징크스가 있다. 2020년 프로 데뷔 후 경기 일정 자체가 없던 2021년을 제외하고 매년 본인의 생일에 우천 취소를 겪고 있다. 상대적으로 우천 취소가 되기 쉬운 7월 생일이라는 걸 감안하더라도 상당히 특이한 징크스.
