레이디 가가의 노래로 레이디 가가의 2집 Born This Way의 두 번째 싱글로 발매되었다.2. 상세
2011년 4월, Judas가 앨범의 두 번째 싱글로 발매되었다. 제목 이 뜻하는 Judas 는 다름아닌 12 사도중 예수를 팔아넘긴 배신자 가롯 유다. 가사의 내용은 예수를 사랑하고 싶어하지만 본능적으로 예수를 배신한 유다에게 마음이 이끌리며 결국 유다와 사랑에 빠졌다는 식에 가사이기에 발매 직후 종교 모독 논란이 있었으며 개신교에선 Judas가 악마를 숭배하는 내용을 담고 있다며 비난했다. [1] 그 논란 덕분에 레이디 가가의 첫 상업적 실패작이라고 불리면서 빌보드 탑텐에 10위로 데뷔하고 곧바로 하락한다. 그도 그럴 것이 미국은 대표적인 기독교 국가이기 때문. 당시 종교를 곡의 주제로 사용해 비교가 되었던 마돈나의 가스펠 댄스곡 Like a Prayer와는 다르게[2] 가사부터 종교 모독의 여지가 심한 데다 사운드는 헤비하고 강렬한 일렉트로닉 하우스였기 때문에 더더욱이 상업적 실패는 예견된 결과였다. 다만 비기독교 국가들에서는 어느 정도 선방했다. 공개 직후 본인의 히트곡 Bad Romance와의 유사성도 많이 제기가 되어 자기 복제라는 비판도 많이 등장했었다. (오오오오 하는 부분, 전체적인 곡의 구성, 멜로디, 곡의 주제 등이 매우 비슷하다.) 여러모로 시끌시끌했던 트랙. 많은 팬들이 뮤직비디오마저 논란이 일도록 찍을까봐 걱정했으나 다행히 뮤직비디오는 완성도 높고 종교적인 논란이 최대한 덜하게 편집되었다. 그래도 종교적인 이유인지 좋아요:싫어요의 비율-이 5:1로 싫어요의 비율이 많은 편. 연출자체도 좀 호러스럽게 해놓은지라 상당히 기괴하다.2.1. 가사
