2014년 9월 23일 발매된 켄드릭 라마의 노래. 로스앤젤레스 출신 프로듀서 Rahki가 프로듀싱을 맡았다.
공식 뮤직비디오. 앞서 언급했던 로널드 아이즐리[1] 뿐만 아니라 조지클린턴[2] 역시 카메오로 출연했다.
2015년 발매된 앨범 To Pimp A Butterfly에도 수록되어 있으나,[3] 앨범 발매 이전 나왔던 싱글 버전과 앨범 버전은 곡 구성, 가사 등에서 많은 차이를 보인다. 그러나 두 곡 모두 아이즐리 브라더스(The Isley Brothers)의 That Lady를 샘플링으로 하고 있다.[4]
싱글 버전에서는 별도의 다른 사운드 없이 That Lady의 샘플링을 인트로로 쓰고 있으며, 벌스, 훅, 아웃트로가 명확하게 나누어져 있다.
또한 앨범 커버 역시 눈길을 끄는데, 블러즈를 상징하는 빨간색 옷을 입은 사람과 크립스를 상징하는 옷을 입은 사람이 모여서 손으로 하트를 만들고 있다. 이는 블러즈와 크립스 사이의 평화를 원한다는 메세지로 해석되고 있다.

앨범의 수록곡 중에서도 핵심이 되는 곡이자 이 앨범에서 가장 긍정적인 메시지를 전하고 있는 곡으로, 훅부터 'I love myself'(난 내 자신을 사랑해)라는 가사가 나온다.
이 곡은 앨범의 프로모 싱글 중 하나인데, 싱글 버전과 앨범에 실린 버전은 다르며, 이 앨범 버전에서는 마치 켄드릭이 라이브 공연을 하는 듯이 진행된다. 또 이 곡이 앨범의 리드싱글로 그래미에서 솔로 랩 상을 탔으나 켄드릭은 엄청난 호평을 받은 전작 good kid, m.A.A.d city가 두 번이나 그래미에 노미네이트 되었으나 무관에 그친 것을 비꼬는 의미로 시상식에 참석하지 않았다.
이 곡에서 켄드릭은 관중들 앞에서 라이브 공연을 하며 자신을 사랑하자는 메시지를 전파하지만 관중들이 논쟁을 벌이며 소란을 일으키자, 켄드릭은 즉석에서 곡의 반주를 끈 후 아카펠라로 프리스타일 랩을 선보인다. 켄드릭은 프리스타일 랩을 하면서 흑인들이 서로 사용하는 N-word라는 단어는 백인들이 사용하던 경멸적인 단어였으며, 이제는 흑인들이 서로를 이르는 단어가 되었지만 여전히 자기비하적 의미도 섞여있다고 설명한다.
