벨벳 언더그라운드가 추구하는 퇴폐성이 극대화된 곡으로, 루 리드가 작곡했다. 레오폴트 폰 자허마조흐의 1870년 동명의 소설에서 제목을 따 왔다. 대중음악 최초로 BDSM에 관해서 노래한 작품으로, 원 소설의 주인공이 언급되기도 한다. 존 케일의 불길한 비올라 반주가 긴장감을 형성시킨다.2018년 줄리안 카사블랑카스의 커버가 HBO 드라마인 바이닐(Vinyl)의 OST로 수록되었다.
