2026년 3월 20일에 발매 예정인 고릴라즈의 9번째 정규 앨범.

2. 배경

2025년 9월 3일 고릴라즈 데뷔 25주년을 기념한 특별 콘서트 '하우스 오브 콩(House Of Kong)'의 4번째 공연에서[1] 새 앨범 발매 소식과 함께 수록곡 10개를 공연하였다.

고릴라즈의 새 레이블 KONG(Kong Studios Essex Limited)를 통해 발매되는 첫 번째 앨범으로 영국 런던과 인도, 투르크메니스탄, 시리아 등지에서 녹음되었다. 고릴라즈 앨범이 그렇듯 다양한 게스트들이 참여했으며 영어, 아랍어, 힌디어, 스페인어, 요루바어 등 5가지 언어가 사용된다고 한다.

스토리는 머독, 러셀, 2D, 누들이 가짜 여권 네 개를 들고 뭄바이로 이주하면서 벌어지는 이야기를 그린다.

데이먼 알반과 제이미 휴렛이 인도 여행을 하며 겪은 경험이 크게 반영되었다고 한다. 두 사람은 인도 여행 중 부모와 장모를 잃는 개인적인 상실을 겪었으며[2] 힌두교, 불교, 시크교에서의 죽음에 대한 관점을 통해 위로를 찾았다고 한다. 알반은 기독교 문화권에서 자라온 사람으로서 죽음에 대한 새로운 태도를 접하며 슬픔을 조금 다른 맥락으로 느낄 수 있었다고 말하며 '죽음을 멋지게 만드는 것'을 앨범의 목표로 삼았다고 밝혔다. 또한 이번 앨범에서 현재 고인이 된 과거 고릴라즈와 협업했던 이들도 담고자 했다며 바비 워맥, 데이비드 졸리쾨르, 데니스 호퍼, 마크 E. 스미스, 프루프, 토니 앨런 등 고인들의 보컬이 일부 트랙에 삽입되었다고 한다.

9월 11일 첫 번째 싱글 Happy Dictator 공개와 함께 영국와 아일랜드 투어가 발표되었다.

12월 12일 Damascu가 앨범의 네 번째 싱글로 공개되었으며, 동시에 웹사이트를 통해 앨범 발매일이 3월 20일에서 2월 27일로 앞당겨졌다고 발표했다.
