Mother's Daughter는 마일리 사이러스의 EP SHE IS COMING의 첫 번째 싱글로, 2019년 6월 7일 발매되었다.2. 상세
2019년 5월 31일 EP SHE IS COMING이 예고 없이 발매된 뒤 일주일이 지난 6월 7일 싱글로 공개되었다. 뮤직비디오는 그보다도 훨씬 뒤인 7월 공개되는 등 홍보 과정이 일반적이지 않았다. 심지어 노래를 발매한 지 고작 일주일 뒤 블랙 미러의 사운드트랙인 On A Roll도 싱글로 발매했다.자신의 어머니인 티시 사이러스가 자신에게 해준 말에서 영감을 받아 노래를 만들었다고 한다. 그래서인지 티시는 노래의 뮤직비디오에도 출연했다.
예술가와 여성으로서 그녀의 성장뿐만 아니라. 페미니즘과 성소수자에 대한 이야기라고 그녀는 밝혔다. 노래가 발매되던 시기 미국에선 낙태 금지 법안과 관련된 논란이 시끄러웠는데, 마일리는 이 노래가 낙태 금지에 대한 투쟁이라고 말하기도 했다.
