1. 개요

청나라의 마지막 황제였던 푸이의 남동생. 제2대 아이신기오로 가문의 수장이다. 푸이와 정치적 행보를 같이 하며 많은 정치적 풍파를 겪었다.

2. 생애

1907년 순친왕과 여우란 사이의 아들이자 푸이의 친동생으로 태어났다. 어렸을 때 그는 형 푸이의 놀이 친구로 자금성으로 입궁했다. 그때 푸제가 입은 외투 안감이 황제의 색인 노란색인 것을 보고 푸이가 화를 냈다는 유명한 일화가 있다.

1924년 핍궁사건이 터진 이후 황실의 주선에 따라 광서제의 후궁 근비의 조카인 1904년생 타타라 탕스샤(他他拉唐石霞)와 결혼했다. 1928년 국민당이 베이징을 점령하자 일본으로 유학을 가면서 탕스샤와 푸제는 떨어지게 된다. 탕스샤는 만주 공주였는데, 둘 사이에서는 아이가 없었고 사이가 좋지 않았다. 탕스샤는 장쉐량을 연모해서 그의 정부가 되었다. 이때를 기점으로 둘은 별거에 들어간다. 탕스샤는 장쉐량과 헤어진 이후에는 루융샹의 아들인 루샤오쟈와 연인 사이가 되기도 했다. 그녀는 이후 푸제와 이혼하고 홍콩으로 떠나서 화가이자 홍콩대학교의 중국어 강사로 유명해졌다. 일본은 사가 히로와 정략결혼이 결정된 이후에 탕스샤에게서 이혼 도장을 받아낸다.

1929년에 도일한 푸제는 가쿠슈인에서 수학하고, 뒤이어 일본육군사관학교로 진학, 김병번(金秉藩)이라는 이름으로 유학했다. 일본육군사관학교는 1935년 7월에 졸업했다. 일본 제국은 자식이 없던 푸이의 잠정적인 상속인으로 푸제를 지목하고 일본 화족 출신의 사가 히로와 결혼을 권유했다. 푸이는 반대했지만[1] 푸제는 그것을 받아들여 1937년 4월 재혼하였다.둘은 서로에게 호감이 있었고 금슬이 좋았다.

1938년 푸제는 만주국 군관학교 교관으로 군직을 받았다. 사가 히로는 그해에 만주에게 장녀 아이신기오로 후이성을 낳고 잠시 일본으로 가는 남편을 따라 귀국해 코세이를 낳았다. 사가 히로는 후이성을 친정에 맡기고 차녀 코세이만 데리고 남편을 따라 만주로 갔다.

1945년 소련의 만주 전략 공세 작전으로 만주국이 멸망하고 푸이와 푸제는 비행기를 타고 만주를 탈출하려다 비행장에서 소련군에게 체포되어 하바롭스크로 압송되어 육로로 탈출하려던 사가 히로와 헤어졌다. 푸제는 소련에서 중국으로 이송되어 푸이와 함께 푸순 전범관리소에 수감되었다. 푸이가 모범수로 풀려난 이듬해인 1960년 11월, 본인도 특별 사면을 받아 석방되었다. 1961년에는 사가 히로가 저우언라이 수상의 초청으로 중국으로 건너가 16년 만에 서로가 다시 만나며 상봉한다.[2] 이후 베이징에 정착하지만 문화대혁명 당시 홍위병들이 그의 집에 침입하여 집기들을 파괴하였고 충격을 받는다.

1972년 중일국교정상화로 중국과 일본이 수교하자 삶의 안정을 되찾는다. 말년에는 베르나르도 베르톨루치 감독의 영화인 마지막 황제의 기술 자문역을 맡았다. 1994년 2월 28일 7시 55분 경 베이징에서 병으로 사망했다.

중국공산당 덕분에 죽음을 면한 덕분인지, 공산당에 우호적인 언사를 남겼다. 천안문 6.4 항쟁 당시에 공산당의 진압을 지지하는 발언을 남기기도 하였다. 해당 자료 다만 당시 고령의 나이를 감안하면 실제 지지 발언이 아닌 관제단체에 이름만 올렸을 가능성도 있다.

3. 여담

후손들은 현재 일본에서 살고 있다. 푸제와 사가 히로의 차녀인 호생은 일본인 후쿠나가와 결혼하여 후쿠나가 코세이란 이름을 쓰고 있다. 1940년생으로 다섯 자녀가 있으며 일본 니시노미야에 거주하고 있다.

푸이와 푸제가 살아남는 데는 삼촌인 자이타오가 공산당에서 활약한 것도 어느 정도 영향을 줬을 것이다. 소련이 초기에 로마노프 황가를 죽여버린 게 해외나 일반 국민에게 역효과가 난 것을 중공은 기억하였고, 공산당과 협력한 자이타오는 그런 중공에게 좋은 케이스가 됐다. 자이타오는 기병을 이끈 군인으로 공산당에 협력하였고 한국전쟁 당시에 사용할 군마를 확보하려고 내몽골에 파견되기도 하였다. 청나라 황족이었음에도 바바오산 혁명공묘에 묻힐 정도였다.

[1] 푸이는 귀국한 푸제에게 자신의 첩실 후보였던 왕민통을 소개해서 중국인과의 결혼을 주선했지만 실패로 끝났다. 여담으로 왕민통은 1913년생으로 모친이 아이신기오로 가문 출신이라 비운의 청나라 황실 미녀라고도 알려져있다.# 1959년, 감옥에서 출소한 푸이가 '너는 좋은 사람인데 왜 결혼하지 않았느냐'는 농담을 한 이후 푸이에게 대단히 집착했는데 푸이가 리수셴과 재혼한 이후 증상이 심해져 그가 죽을때까지 스토킹을 했다고 전해진다. 문화대혁명 때문에 집이 압류되고 빈곤한 삶을 살다가 2003년에 사망.[2] 정작 공산당에 여러 번 편지를 보내며 푸제의 생사를 알고 싶어 한 장녀 후이성은 자살하는 바람에 가지 못했다.
