계두식의 심복 및 멍청함의 대명사. 천봉삼이라는 본명 석자가 엄연히 있으나, 항상 이름 대신 별명 '대가리'로 더 많이 불린다. 영화를 대충 봐도 이 캐릭터가 얼마나 멍청이인지를 바로 알 수가 있다. 헌데, 학력 문제가 아니라 애초에 현실에는 존재하기 어려운 수준의 무식함인 이유가, 정규 교육 기관에서 배우는 지식과는 관련 없이 일상 생활 하다보면 자연스레 익히게 되는 일반적인 지식마저 모르는 경우가 대부분인지라 이는 학력 부족의 문제가 아님을 알 수가 있다.[1] 조용한 바보인 김상두와는 달리[2] 성격도 다혈질적이라 멍청함이 더 드러난다. 그래서 아가씨 면접 결과를 이메일로 알려준다면서 메일 주소를 물은 후[3], 부하가 받아적는 y8090@Daum.net을 y8090@....[4]으로 수정하라고 크게 윽박지르는 등 멍청하고 얼빠지고 정신나간 짓거리를 상당히 자주 한다. 게다가 홍콩에 입국했을 땐 신고서엔 엉터리로 적고 인터뷰도 한국말로 하라고 해서 심사관이 고개를 절레절레 흔들게 만들었다. 두사부일체에서는 짧은 올백머리지만, 투사부일체에선 반삭 헤어스타일을 하고 나온다.
그나마 그런 무식함을 드러내듯이 유일하게 가장 잘 하는 것은 싸움. 그 중에서도 최대 강점은 박치기로, 파괴력이 실로 굉장하다. 2편의 회식 자리에서 박치기로 못을 박는 퍼포먼스를 선보였는데 부하들의 반응을 보면 평소 즐겨하는 듯. 항상 나름 잘 해 보겠다고 일을 저지르는데, 항상 결말이 안 좋다. 두식이 학교 갈 때도 혼자 부산 떨다가 두식에게 신나게 얻어맞고, 분위기 파악 못 하고 나대다가 두식에게 또 신나게 얻어맞고, 원산폭격 당하고, 맥주병&소주병 등으로 얻어맞고... 아무튼 작중 취급이 참 좋질 않다.
상사부일체에서는 웬 승려인 줄 알고 막 그를 막 구타했다가 알고 보니 조직 내 최고 큰형님 오상중인 걸 확인하자 데꿀멍하고 심하게 야단 맞고 기합 받았다.
투사부일체에선 상가번영회 회장 자격으로 포장마차에서 술 먹는 한 고딩의 머리를 후려갈기는데, 공교롭게도 그 고딩의 정체가 알고 보니 상중이라서 졸지에 하극상을 저질러버렸고, 결국 도주하면서 거지꼴로 살게 된다. 간신히 나중에 상중, 두식에게 용서받는 데 성공하고 다시 조직으로 컴백하긴 하였지만, 홍콩 입국 과정에서 사고를 친 상두와 묶여 학생들 고충 해결해 주는 신세로 전락한다.
여기까지 읽어봤어도 알겠지만, 눈치가 없어도 너무 없다. 특히 박치기가 특기이다 보니 머리의 취급도 영 좋질 않은데, 시리즈 전체에서 쓰러질락 말락 하는 상대에게 마무리 박치기를 하려다가 상대는 쓰러지고 그 뒤에 있던 철봉이나 돌기둥 등에 박치기를 해서 뻗어버리는 묘사가 나온다.
투사부일체에서 의외의 사실이 밝혀졌는데, 처자식이 있는 엄연한 한 집안의 가장이자 유부남이자 애아빠라는 것. 그리고 심각한 공처가로 보인다. 그러나 그 무서운 마누라에게조차 두식의 흉을 보지 못하게 할 정도로 두식에게만큼은 절대적인 충성심과 의리를 보이는데, 자기가 교도소에 있는 동안 교도소 면회 왔다가 교통사고를 당한 어머니를 위해서 두식이 단칸방 보증금까지 빼가면서 봉삼의 어머니의 수술비를 마련해 주어 봉삼의 어머니를 완치시켰기 때문이라고 한다. 확실히 그렇게 욕먹고 얻어맞고 무시를 당하는데도 계속 남아 있는 것을 보면 충성심과 의리가 얼마나 대단한지를 알 수 있다.
이렇게 멍청하고 얼빵한 모습만을 심심하면 보여주지만, 업장 관리에 있어서만큼은 나름대로의 사업 수완을 가지고 있는 듯하다. 두사부일체에서 두식이 상두를 타박하는 묘사를 보면 아무래도 상두보다 매출이 좋은 듯하다. 투사부일체에서는 도박에 빠진 학부모를 바로 추적해서 하우스를 습격해 빼내오기도 하는데, 이것도 좋은 수완의 예라고 할 수 있어 보인다. 상사부일체에서는 조직을 배신하는 악역으로 나오며 영어 회화도 능숙하게 하는 등 머리도 나름 똑똑해졌다. 거기서 두식을 총으로 쏴 죽이는 기행을 저지른다. 물론 꿈이었지만...
묘하게 상두에게 라이벌 의식을 가지는 듯하다. 1부에서 상두가 검도술을 선보이자 괜히 자신도 박치기로 나무 판자를 부쉈지만, 머리에 피만 흘렸다.
