1. 개요
산인-킨키 자동차도(산인킨키도, E9)의 나들목이다. 나들목 명칭은 소재지명인 이와미초에서 유래하였다.9번 국도와 178번 국도의 경계 구간이다. 중앙점을 기준으로 서쪽이 9번 국도, 동쪽이 178번 국도인데 178번 국도는 비지정국도, 즉 지자체가 관리하는 국도인 반면 9번 국도는 지정국도로 국토교통성이 관리를 수행한다. 사업 구간 역시 나뉘어 있어, 9번 국도 구간의 경우 시치야마바이패스 구간, 178번 국도 구간의 경우 이와미도로 구간으로 정비되었다.
나들목 형태는 변형 다이아몬드형, 그 중에서도 단일점 도심형(SPUI) 교차로다. 하부 교차로 기준 남쪽 방향이 9번 국도 현행도로이며, 북쪽으로는 325번 돗토리현도가 접속된다. 9번 국도 방향으로는 미치노에키 키난세 이와미가 근방에 있어 본선에서 휴게시설로 안내된다.
