서태지의 하여가 이후 국악을 접목한 프로그레시브 록. v3.1 리메이크하면서 사물놀이 패를 동원하였으며, 3집에서 녹음이 가장 오래 걸린 곡이기도 하다. 그 분야 원탑인 김덕수가 참여했다는 말이 있었지만 크래딧을 보면 사실이 아니다. 라이브에서는 이러한 사운드를 전부 구현 할 수 없기에 편곡을 적당히 거쳤는데, 2000년 노바소닉 콘서트에서의 라이브를 들어보면 상당히 뉴메탈스럽기도 하다.[3] 당시 라이브에서 당대 최고의 래퍼라 봐도 무방했던 김진표와 비교해도 그에 전혀 밀리지 않는 랩을 구사한다. 라이브가 상당히 어려울 거 같지만 자주 불렀고 라이브 음원에 대한 평가가 매우 좋다. v3.1 버전은 살짝 아쉬운 랩 스킬을 김세황의 백보컬로 커버한 느낌이 있었다면, 라이브에서는 단시간에 엄청나게 발전한 신해철의 랩을 들을 수 있다.

제목의 코메리칸은 한국에 살면서 생각과 소비 습관, 문화적 지향점은 서구 문화만 맹목적으로 따르는 세속적인 도시인을 풍자하는 코리아+아메리칸의 합성어다.[4] 블루스는 수선떨따 요란하다를 뜻하는 속된 표현인 '난리부르스'를 칭한다 볼 수 있다. 리메이크 곡이 수록된 3집의 'Money', 'The Age of No God'과 원곡이 수록된 영화 《바람부는 날이면 압구정동에 가야 한다》의 주제의식과 궤를 같이한다. 압축 성장의 그늘과 물질만능주의, 선진 문화로 포장된 미국화된 한국사회, 오렌지족으로 일컬어지는 압구정동 문화와 정체성의 혼란 등을 해학적으로 희화화하여 비꼬는 내용을 담고 있다.

3집의 리메이크는 한국인의 정체성이라는 메시지를 극대화하기 위해 국악을 접목하였고, 서구의 록 음악과 국악이 부딪히는 사운드 자체로 주제의식을 청각적으로 구현했다는 평가를 받는 곡이다.

['95] The World 수록 버전[2] 샘플링된 소리. 원곡인 압구정동에 가야 한다에서는 "Give me a break! 이다. 서로 일종의 답구를 이루는 셈. 라이브에서는 직접 부른다. 심의상 가사집에선 빠져 있다.[3] 하여가도 일종의 뉴메탈로 평가받기 때문에 비슷한 장르의 이 곡도 뉴메탈로 볼 수 있다.[4] 이는 곡이 만들어진 90년대 당시의 의미이고, 현재는 코리안+아메리칸 결합을 의미하는 국제부부나 그 사이에서 태어난 2세를 지칭하기도 한다.
