1. 개요

오키나와자동차도(오키나와도, E58)의 나들목(7번)이다. 나들목 명칭은 소재지 아자명 야카(屋嘉)에서 유래하였다.

1988년 3월 29일 나하 방향 편방향으로 신설된 중간 나들목[1]으로 개통되었다. 본 나들목의 설치 목적은 온나손 일대의 58번 국도의 혼잡 완화다. 오키나와도가 전 구간 개통 되기 전 온나손 서부 리조트 지역의 58번 국도는 혼잡 구간이었는데, 여기에 이시카와IC가 나하 방향으로도 연결된다면 그 이후로도 혼잡이 풀리지 않을 것이라 예측되었다. 이에 만자모 등이 소재하는 온나손 북부로 빠르게 잇는 88번 오키나와현도를 신설하고, 여기에 접속하는 나들목을 신설하기로 결정된 것이 야카IC다.

이런 목적성 때문에 양방향 진출입은 고려되지 않았고, 나하 방향으로의 편방향 준직결형 나들목으로 설치되었다. 외부 접속부는 평면교차로(삼거리)로 88번 오키나와현도에 접속된다.
