1. 개요

영국의 싱어송라이터 앰버 베인(Amber Bain)이 운영하는 1인 밴드.

2. 상세

사이키델릭한 사운드를 기반으로 한 중성적인 보컬이 특징이다.

The 1975에 지대한 영향을 받은 것으로 유명한데, 그녀의 친구가 The 1975의 맷 힐리에게 그녀를 알선해 주었고 이를 계기로 본격적으로 음악 커리어가 시작됐기 때문이다.

BBC 선정 사운드 오브 2017[1]에 후보로 오를 정도로 영국에서 주목받는 신예이다.

4. 여담

그녀가 어렸을 때 가족과 같이 휴가를 보내던 콘월의 일본식 저택이 예명의 유래이다. 이름이나 성별로 자신의 음악에 대한 선입견이 생기는 것이 싫어 일부러 무생물 명칭인 Japanese House를 예명으로 삼았다고 한다. 참고로 이 저택은 원래 케이트 윈슬렛의 소유였다고.

동성애자이다. 인스타그램에 가면 여자친구와 같이 찍은 사진들이 있다. 다만 지금은 헤어진 듯 하다.
