1. 개요
2000년 브로드웨이에서 초연된 뮤지컬 아이다의 넘버이다. 팀 라이스가 작사, 엘튼 존이 작곡했다.작중에서 암네리스가 자신의 패션에 대한 사랑을 화려한 패션쇼로 보여주는 곡이다. 이후 암네리스가 공주로서 짊어져야 할 너무 많은 의무에 대해 한탄하자 아이다가 암네리스의 마음을 이해하고 북돋아주는 장면에 반복되어(Reprise) 다시 한번 등장한다.
2. 제작
뮤지컬 삽입곡들 작업 기간인 1996년 작곡했다. 엘튼 존은 미국 조지아주 애틀랜타의 퍼플 드래곤 스튜디오에서 데모를 녹음했지만 발매하지 않았다.1999년 콘셉트 앨범 Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida에서는 스파이스 걸스가 불렀다. 미국 뉴욕주 뉴욕의 배터리 스튜디오와 롸잇 트랙 스튜디오, 텍사스주 휴스턴의 디지털 스튜디오, 영국 런던의 애비 로드 스튜디오에서 녹음되었다.[1] 엘튼 존은 "My Strongest Suit"를 재밌는 곡이라고 설명하면서도 아마도 자신에 대해 쓰인 곡일 것이라고 했고, 스파이스 걸스의 곡은 비록 원곡보다 모타운 풍이지만 뮤지컬과 가장 근접한 곡이라고 생각한다고 빌보드 인터뷰에서 밝혔다.[2]
2000년 브로드웨이 캐스트 레코딩 앨범에서는 암네리스 역의 셰리 르네 스콧과 아이다 역의 헤더 헤들리가 노래를 불렀다.
