1. 개요

미디어 몰리큘에서 개발한 PS4 독점 신작.

동사에서 개발한 리틀빅플래닛 시리즈처럼 자신만의 스테이지부터, 더 나아가 다양한 장르의 독창적인 게임을 만들거나 배경음악, 캐릭터, 캐릭터 애니메이션, 또는 구름이나 건물 같은 오브젝트와 같은 요소를 만들고, 그것을 다른 사람들과 공유할 수 있는 게임이다.

사실상 '게임 만드는 게임'이라 불러도 무방한, 리틀빅플래닛의 정신적 후속작이다. 2019년 4월 19일에 일부 국가에서 얼리 액세스(앞서 해보기) 형태로 발매되었다.

2023년 9월, 게임의 모든 사후 지원이 종료된다고 한다. #

게임의 특성상 기존의 유명한 작품들을 그대로 흉내낸 게임들도 많이 있는데 당연히 다른 게임사들이 보유한 캐릭터들의 모델링을 그대로 가져다 쓰는 경우가 많아 닌텐도에서 소니 측에 마리오 시리즈의 IP를 게임 내에서 쓰지 못 하도록 클레임을 걸었고 마리오가 들어간 레벨들이 게임 내에서 삭제되었다.(#)
