BEMANI 시리즈의 수록곡. 작곡은 NAOKI. 곡의 제목 1998은 DanceDanceRevolution가 처음으로 발매된 1998년을 기념하는 뜻이다.DDR 메들리인 DDR MEGAMIX에서 첫번째에 나오는 곡이기도 하다.

첫 수록 당시엔 기체 한계 때문에 컷신을 BGA 대용으로 썼지만 북미에 발매된 PS2용 DDR 시리즈인 EXTREME2에 수록될 때 전용 BGA가 생겼고, 이 BGA가 AC SuperNOVA에 역이식되었다.

위의 1998을 기반으로 만든 리믹스. beatmania IIDX 9th style에 첫 수록되었다. 가정용 9th와 아케이드판의 보컬이 다른데 전자는 jun, 후자는 DIGICCO가 보컬을 담당했다. 가정용 9th 보컬 버전은 사운드트랙에 실리지 못했다. INFINITAS에서는 아케이드 버전을 사용했다.
beatmania IIDX 21 SPADA에서 삭제되었다.
