1. 개요

이승한은 Next&Partners(이하 N&P)[1]와 북쌔즈(BOOKSAYS)[2] 대표이사이며 과거 홈플러스(구 삼성테스코)의 초대 대표이사로 널리 알려진 인물이다.

역대 홈플러스 대표이사 중 무려 17년을 지낸 최장수 대표이사 CEO였다. 홈플러스에서 오랜기간을 지낸 만큼 홈플러스에 대한 큰 공을 기여한 인물 중 하나이기도 하다. 이 외에도 홈플러스 대표이사로 지내면서 2010년부터 2016년까지 유엔글로벌콤팩트 한국협회 회장으로도 같이 역임했었다.

이승한 대표는 2013년경 홈플러스 대표이사 회장직[3]에서 물러나고 2014년까지는 e파란재단 이사장, 테스코-홈플러스 아카데미 회장, 테스코 경영자문역을 맡아왔다가 2014년경 홈플러스 내에서 완전히 손을 떼게 되면서 최종적으로 홈플러스에서 퇴사를 했다.[4]

3.1. 장애인 비하 발언

2009년 10월 코엑스에서 열린 '아시아태평양 소매업자 대회' 토론회에서 당시 회장 이승한은 기업형 슈퍼마켓(SSM)에 반대하는 중소상인들을 장애인에 빗대어 "장애인이 맛없는 빵을 만들면 빵을 사주는 게 아니라 맛있는 빵을 만들 수 있도록 해야 한다"는 발언을 하면서 장애인과 상인들을 한꺼번에 비하하며 논란을 자초하기도 했다.

과거 홈플러스 대표로 재임했었을 시기에는 TV나 다큐멘테리, 언론에서도 자주 등장한 적이 있다보니 당시 홈플러스 임원은 물론, 드물게 일반인들도 이승한 대표에 대해 나름 알려진 편이었다.

홈플러스가 흥행했을 시기인 2000년대 중반 당시 홈플러스가 삼성물산과 영국 테스코와의 합작 회사라는 특성 때문에 홈플러스의 국적 논란도 있었지만 당시 이승한 대표가 직접 다큐멘터리에서 삼성물산과 테스코는 단순히 홈플러스의 투자자일뿐 본사(모기업)가 없는 독자 기업이라고 발언한 바 있다.#

잘 안알려진 사실이지만 도서를 출간한 적이 있다. 과거 홈플러스 대표이사 시절인 2009년부터 현재까지 출간하고 있다.

[1] 주소는 서울특별시 강남구 테헤란로 322 한신인터밸리 동관 14층 1417호에 위치해 있는데 공교롭게도 과거 홈플러스 본사가 위치했었던 삼정빌딩 근처에 위치해있다. 도보로 6분 거리. 이렇게 가까이 위치했었던 이유는 2014년에 이승한 대표가 개인 사업자로 경영 컨설팅업인 N&P를 설립했는데 그 당시 이승한 대표가 홈플러스에서 완전히 퇴사한 상태는 아니었고 e파란재단 이사장 등 아직까진 홈플러스 소속이었던 탓에 왔다갔다하기 쉽게 접근하려고 N&P 본사를 과거 홈플러스 본사 근처로 입주를 한 것이다. 현재 홈플러스 본사는 2016년 강서점 꼭대기로 이전한 상태. 이 외에도 현재 홈플러스 본사 전화번호(02-3459-8000)와 N&P 본사 전화번호(02-3459-8801)가 겨우 몇 끗 차이인 것도 덤.[2] 주소는 서울특별시 강남구 테헤란로 311 아남타워 1~2층에 위치해있다. N&P 본사 바로 맞은편에 위치해있으며 마찬가지로 서쪽 옆옆옆 건물이 과거 홈플러스 본사가 위치했었던 삼정빌딩이다.[3] 홈플러스의 대표이사 회장직은 이승한이 처음이자 마지막이었다.[4] 퇴사 사유는 그동안 쉼표없이 살아오면서 미처 돌보지 못했던 건강을 회복하고 가족들과의 시간을 더 많이 갖고싶다는 희망으로 인해 어렵게 퇴사를 결정했다고 한다.
