경기도 화성시 우정읍, 장안면 지역을 아우르는 지명이다.
2. 기아자동차와의 관계
기아자동차 화성공장이 있는 지역이다. 우정읍의 도로중에서 이 기업의 이름을 딴 기아자동차로가 있다.
화성군에서 이 지역인 장안면과 우정면을 합쳐 삼괴읍을 만들려고 했으나, 내무부(현 행정안전부)의 반려로 무산되었다.
이 지역 중 우정읍을 가려면 장안면을 거쳐 가야했다. 현재는 서신면과 연결된 화성방조제와 포승읍과 연결된 다리로 갈수 있다.
