미얀마 카친주의 주도.

2. 역사

고대 시대부터 중국과 미얀마의 무역 도시 역할을 해왔다.

1942년, 제2차 세계 대전 당시 일본군에 의해 점령되었다. 1944년 8월에 조지프 스틸웰 이 이끄는 연합군이 혼다 마사키의 부대를 포위하면서 전투에서 승리로 이끌어 일본 제국으로부터 해방되었다.

비취, 금, 호박, 티크 위주의 산업이 발달해있다.

4. 교통

미치나 공항이 위치해 있고 취항지로는 푸타오와 만달레이가 있다.
