1. 개요

크래프톤이 주관하는 PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 국제 대회로, 연말 한 해를 결산하는 PGC를 진출하기 위한 과정 중 하나라고 볼 수 있다. 쉽게 말하면 LoL e스포츠의 MSI와 결이 비슷하지만, 1년에 총 4회 개최된다는 점에서 위상이 조금 더 낮다고 말할 수 있다.

4. 진행 방식

대회 규정집

4.1. 역사

2020년에 신설된 PUBG 글로벌 대회로, PGS에서의 성적을 통해 한 해를 결산하는 대회인 PGC에 진출하는 팀을 가리는 일종의 예선전 대회였으나 2020년부터 전 세계를 뒤엎은 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 PCS라는 대체 대회가 생겼다. 코로나19 팬데믹 상황 종료로 인해 2023년부터는 다시 PGS를 1년에 2회 개최한다.

PGS에서 얻은 PGS 포인트를 통해 누적 포인트 상위 팀들은 PGC 직행 시드를 획득할 수 있으며, 2024년부터 4시드에서 8시드로 늘어나게 되었다.

2024년부터 1년 4회 개최로 변경되었으며, 첫 번째 지역 시리즈가 끝난 후 연속으로 2회, 두 번째 지역 시리즈가 끝난 후에도 2회 연속으로 개최된다. 참가팀은 24팀으로 동일하며, 글로벌 파트너 팀이 기존 8팀 + 신규 2팀의 추가로 10팀으로 늘어났기 때문에 각 지역에서 글로벌 파트너 팀 제외 총 14팀이 뽑히게 된다. 또한 아시아 태평양(APAC) 지역은 각자 지역 리그에서 PGS로 직행하는 것이 아닌 아시아 태평양 선발전을 다시 한 번 치러 총 4팀이 뽑히게 된다. 이때 APAC 지역은 베트남, 태국, 호주·오세아니아·일본·대만 등의 지역을 통합하는 명칭이다.

4.2. 대회 구조

4.2.1. 그룹 편성

각 지역리그 / PGS 선발전 결과에 따라 스네이크 방식으로 3개조 (A,B,C)로 편성된다. 글로벌 파트너 팀은 각 조마다 3,3,4팀으로 선 배정이 된다. 동일한 장소에서 다시 개최되는 2번째 PGS는 직전 PGS 결과에 기반하여 스네이크-드래프트 형식으로 배정된다.

4.2.2. 그룹 스테이지

8팀씩 3개조로 나뉘며, 라운드-로빈 형식에 따라서 3일간 하루 6매치씩 총 18매치 (한팀당 총합 12매치) 를 치르고, 24팀 중 누적 포인트 상위 16팀이 그랜드 파이널에 진출한다.
