1. 개요

Flex Window(플렉스 윈도우)는 갤럭시 Z 시리즈의 플립 타입의 폴더블 UI 요소와 디스플레이의 이름이다.

2. 상세

2023년 갤럭시 언팩 2023 7월에서 처음 나왔다.

갤럭시 Z 시리즈의 플립 타입의 갤럭시의 바깥쪽에 자리 잡고 있다. Flex Window는 갤럭시를 폈을 때나 접었을 때나 언제든지 쓸 수 있게 하는 인터페이스이자, 플립의 디자인을 대표하는 아이덴티티 가운데 하나이다.

Flex Window로 여러 워치페이스, 앱, 위젯을 쓸 수 있다.

Flex Window는 Flex Mode와 함께 돌아간다. Flex Mode는 갤럭시 Z 시리즈의 플랙시블 디스플레이인 Infinity Flex Display가 기울어진 채로 가만히 있을 때 켜지게 되며, 이 때, Flex Mode에 정의된 여러 자세 가운데 각각의 자세에 맞추어 Flex Window가 켜지고 꺼진다.

2.1.1. 닫힘(POSTURE_Closed) 자세

갤럭시를 0°로 기울여 메인 화면을 끝까지 접었을 때이다.

2.1.2. 반 열림(POSTURE_HALF_OPENED), 뒤집힘(POSTURE_FLIPPED) 자세

갤럭시를 80°에서 110°까지로 기울여 메인 화면을 살짝 열었을 때이다.

2.1.3. 다 열림(POSTURE_OPENED) 자세

갤럭시를 180°로 기울여 메인 화면을 끝까지 열었을 때이다.

Flex Window 가운데에서도 워치페이스, 삼성 카메라, Galaxy AI 통역을 쓸 수 있다.

삼성 갤럭시 언팩 2023 7월에서 갤럭시 Z 플립5와 함께 처음 나왔다.

디자인은 아래로 누운 폴더 스타일의 생김새이다. 오른쪽 아래에 있는 FlexCam의 자리를 따라서 안쪽으로 잘리는 컷 아웃이 있고, 비어있는 나머지 자리는 컷 아웃 없이 튀어나와 있는 것처럼 보이는 생김새이다.

Flex Window의 1세대의 크기는 3.4 인치의 86.1mm 이다. 비율은 187:180로 1:1 마름모에 가까우며 가로로 살짝 더 길다. 해상도는 748 * 720 px이다. dpi는 352 * 339 dp이다.[1]

Flex Window 1세대의 레이아웃은 크게 액션바, 액티비티, 아래 쪽 인디케이터로 나누어진다.

액션바 : 애플리케이션의 제목, 뒤로가기 버튼, 메뉴 버튼 등이 들어간다.
액티비티 : 애플리케이션의 콘텐츠들이 들어간다.
아래 쪽 인디케이터 : Flex Window를 컨트롤 할 수 있는 UI 컴포넌트들이 고정된 자리에 있다

삼성 갤럭시 언팩 2025 7월에서 갤럭시 Z 플립7과 함께 처음 나왔다.

디자인은 Infinity O Display로 끝이 둥근 마름모의 생김새이다. 오른쪽 아래에 있는 2개의 FlexCam과 1개의 플래시가 있는 자리에는 Infinity O Display로 동그랗게 잘려있어 모두 3개의 컷아웃이 있다. 그리고 나머지는 모두 스크린으로 꽉 채워져 있다.

Flex Window의 2세대의 크기는 4.1인치의 104.8mm이다. 비율은 237:262로 1:1.1에 가까우며 세로로 살짝 더 길다.[3] 해상도는 948 * 1048 px이다. dpi는 446 * 493 dp이다.

갤럭시 Z 플립5에서 처음 Flex Window가 나오기 앞서 갤럭시 Z 시리즈의 스크린은 커버 스크린(Cover Screen)으로 불렸다. 커버 스크린은 갤럭시 Z 시리즈에서 두루 쓰이는 말로, 플립 타입의 갤럭시 뿐만 아니라 폴드 타입의 갤럭시에서도 쓰인다.
