7. 여담

BLACKPINK가 발매한 첫 실물 싱글 앨범이다. 현재까지도 공식적으로는 유일한 실물 싱글 앨범이다.[1]

디지털 음원에는 일본어 DDU-DU DDU-DU만 수록되어 있으며, 실몰 CD에는 SQUARE UP의 수록곡들이 수록되었다.

디지털 음원은 2018년 7월 23일에 먼저 발매되었다.

제니의 도입부 랩이 일본어로 번역되며 BLACKPINK 최초로 일본어로 랩을 하게 되었다.[2] 다만 비교적 박자가 느린 도입부 랩과 달리 박자가 빠르고 난이도가 높은 리사의 랩과 2절 랩은 모두 영어로 번역되었다.

이번에 수록된 신곡은 일본어로 번역이 안 되어 가사가 한국어 그대로 유지된 곡이 없다.

타이틀곡 DDU-DU DDU-DU는 일본 정규 1집 BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA 6번 트랙에도 타이틀곡으로 수록되었다.

[1] 선공개 싱글 How You Like That이 실물 앨범으로 제작된 적이 있긴 하지만 스페셜 에디션으로 이벤트성 앨범에 가까웠다.[2] 데뷔 앨범 BLACKPINK에서는 모든 랩이 영어로 번역되어 일본어 랩이 존재하지 않았다.
