1. 개요

벅스봇 이그니션의 스핀오프. 2기와는 별개로 벅스봇 G(정보를 보려면 카페 가입 필요) 라는 스핀오프 계획이 준비 중이었다. 벅스봇 G의 G는 'genesis(제네시스)'에서 따왔으며, 애니메이션은 총 15편/각 화 당 4분으로 정해졌다.[1] 시나리오는 소설가 차무진이 작업했다.

2. 방영 전 정보

2020년 5월 중에 1화를 공개할 예정이라고 한다. 이후 6월까지 6화, 7월까지 12화, 9월까지 24화~30화가 순차적으로 방영될 예정이라고. 이후 벅스봇G의 포스터가 공개되었다. 재능TV에서 방송할 걸로 보였다.

하지만 모종의 이유로 방영이 6월 초로 미루어졌다고 했지만 2020년 8월까지 전혀 방영을 안했으며, 편성표에도 전혀 없었다. 코로나 19 문제일 가능성이라는 주장도 있으나, 같은 제작사에서 제작하는 신비아파트 시리즈는 이미 2020년 10월 8일에 시즌 3 파트2 제작 계획을 확정했다. 하지만 2020년 9월 즈음부터 완구를 판매하고 있으며 전작의 방송국인 투니버스에도 가끔씩 광고로 나와 아직까지 희망이 있었다.

결국 투니버스 기준 2020년 9월 19일, 카툰네트워크 기준 2020년 9월 29일 정식 방영을 시작했다. 카넷의 경우 매주 화요일 아침 7시 28분이라는 암흑 시간대이나 투니버스의 경우 저녁 시간대에 방영했다. 이후 대교어린이TV에서도 방영을 확정지었다.

지금부터 주인공 '시우'는 그랜드 코어 사립학교에 입학하기 위해 게임 속 플레이어가 되어 게임을 클리어 해야만 한다.

게다가 게임을 1등으로 클리어할 경우,

더불어 초 특급 레어 시크릿 카드가

4. 등장인물

시우(Si woo) - CV. 소연

주인공. 하얀 피부, 연한 금색의 곱슬머리와 붉은 눈동자가 특징인 미소년.[2] 파트너 벅스봇은 총 5대로, 게임 차원 속에선 메인 파트너 벅스봇인 아틀라스와 비슷한 폼으로 변신한다.

현실에선 굉장히 평범하며 수동적인 성격. 현실세계보다는 게임 속 세상에 더 몰두한다. 게임 속 세상이야말로 진정한 자신의 세상이라 생각한다. 때문에 게임에 접속하면 적극적이며 활발하고 주도적인 성격으로 돌변한다. 그랜드 코어 사립학교의 입학시험 소식을 듣고선 놓칠 수 없는 기회라고 생각하여 '벅스봇 제네시스' 게임에 참여하게 된다.

6.1. 호평

스토리 패턴이 매우 단순한 점에 비해 움직임, 작화 등에 공을 들인 부분이 다수 보인다.

6.2. 혹평

기존 벅스봇과 이질감이 심하다는 혹평이 존재한다. 기존 벅스봇이 변신로봇이 나오는 메카물인데 반면 이쪽은 장난감을 가지고 싸우는 쪽에 가까워보인다는 말이 있다. 또한 설정이 부가 요소에 지나지 않고[3] 전투 장면에만 치우쳐져 있다.

7. 기타

애니메이션이 끝나면 다른 애니메이션이 시작하기 전 예고편과 블록광고 방송 시간대와 비슷한 시간대에 방송했다. 2020년 12월 21일에 종영했다. #
